The beer was excellent, the place was packed, and the food was definitely special. Yes it's cramped, and we had to wait for our table, but we weren't in a hurry - if you are what are you doing in Hedley on the Hill anyway? We just had another round. The waiting staff have a pretty hard task weaving around tables and people, but kept cheerful, and the atmosphere was friendly. The food was excellent and the chef clearly really cares about the quality of the food he prepares. Before we ate I had a look at the notes that had been written for the cider festival and they had put a lot of effort into it. It boded well because the food benefitted from the same care and attention. Looking forward to going back.
