“Wouldn't visit unless you specifically want to eat in the cafe.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

The food served here is excellent. The rest is rather poor. The gardens are beautiful but small. There are about 2 small huts on your left as you go in, one selling honey and the other bric a brac. You cannot get more than 4 people inside as they are so small!! Next to the cafe, there is a wine hut and an antiques hut which is much bigger in size. Last time I went, there were some lovely antiques. This time it was mainly painted furniture in that shabby chic style which I thought was a bit old hat now!! One can only hope that some of the nicer pieces of furniture was in such terrible state that painting it was the only option!! The herb place was closed when we visited! I picked up a plant outside and spent ten minutes walking around asking where to pay. There is no till or pay point!! Eventually someone went and found a man who I paid cash and he gave me change from his pocket. Strange set up as there are lots of pieces of outside furniture to purchase but no till!! One wonders how they manage to sell anything!! All in all, a strange set up but the cafe worth a visit!!

“Enchanting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

The few people that were disappointed with this lovely place must be extremely fussy. We went on a very busy Bank Holiday and it was lovely. The food and the service, you could not fault it. The weather was absolutely glorious as well, what more could you want? We will be returning.

“Delightfully delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

What a treat to finally visit Stydd Gardens and The Glasshouse. A beautiful garden centre and a great cafe inside the glass house. The dining spaces are a mixture of vintage tables and chairs inamongst a jungle of plants and quirky pieces of garden art and pots. The cafe is overseen by Alison Brown (yes,of BBC Radio Lancashire fame) who has put all her enthusiasm and expertise into producing a deliciously fresh and innovative menu with her friendly helpful staff.

The garden centre itself is like a treasure trove, good healthy plants, fantastic range of herbs and lots of one off pieces of garden art.
