“Great Price, BEAUTIFUL Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2010

This hotel was only a few miles from Vail, but the price was so much better than the hotels in Vail. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were quite spacious and very clean - totally worth the price. There wasn't much as far as restaurants/shopping within walking distance, but we did come across the most beautiful park and lake - Nottingham Lake. It was about a five minute walk from the hotel, and it was absolutely gorgeous. There was a Denny's right next door to the hotel, so that was convenient. I would definitely stay here again if I was back in the area.

Our stay at the Comfort Inn - Beaver Creek was less than stellar.

Let me start with the good:

The rooms were nicely decorated. Everything had obviously been recently renovated, and it was all done quite nicely. Also, the location of the hotel was great. I like staying in Avon while in Vail (my boyfriend and I head to Vail at least once a month), and this hotel is nicely located.

Now the bad:

There was a gap under our doors - both the front door and the door connecting us to the next room - large enough to put my whole hand under. This leads to quite the lack of privacy, and walking down the hall I could very clearly hear full conversations and TVs due to the gaps under the doors. In addition, I happened to pull on the door connecting us to the next room and it was UNLOCKED. I had to pull up on the doorknob with all of my might just to be able to lock it. Disturbing that had I not checked, our room would have been fully accessible to the guests in the next room. The air conditioner in the room pumped out moldy smelling air. My boyfriend had horrible sinus problems while in the room, and he never has sinus problems. It smelled awful. There was a loud noise in the room that I was unable to place. It was loud and it sounded like rumbling thunder. I don't believe it was the guest next door, but I don't know what it was. (It wasn't thunder, by the way) All I know is that I had a hard time staying asleep. On a more superficial but still annoying note, the ice maker on our floor was broken and the TV in our room had several channels that were unwatchable. The hotel was completely booked, so there was no way to be moved to a better room, if one existed.

Overall, this was not a room deserving of a $130 price tag. There were much nicer resorts in Vail for not that much more money, and we wished we had booked there, instead.

Me and my family stayed at the Comfort Inn Location for the July 4th holiday. It was a perfect location to walk to the Avon fireworks. Everyone was so nice from the desk clerk to the breakfast person. Good pool area and very clean.

We were only passing through as a stop-over toward home in Kansas, but it was well worth it. One of the only hotels to have their own pool, and definitely the least expensive for all it offered. Breakfast the next morning was nice and relaxing, and everything about this place was inviting. I would go back there to not only experience the beautiful state of Colorado more, but to stay at this friendly hotel.

We were there for 4 nightsduring the off season, so it was not busy. Our TV did not work very well and being a Sunday evening there was no maintence man available. So we were moved to a room right across the hall. They actually offered to move us to a suite, but we opted to just move across the hall. Breakfast was very satisfying. The people working there were all very friendly. The price for that area was more than fair.r

Stranded by a blizzard, the Comfort Inn appeared to be a good refuge for a quick overnight. Plus you get a free breakfast. It's in Avon, and being near Vail, should provide a budget alternative for tourists visiting the area. That was the expectation, at least, but the reality is that it would be a real downer to spend vacation time here. The rooms are poorly appointed, with no frig or mini-bar. A yellowish compact flourescent on the ceiling provides all the light available to the desk area. But the breakfast is really the most grim. Everything is on plastic, all white flour, not a healthy grain in sight. The little lobby area and seating by the fireplace is actually quite attractive, but there is nothing that engages it. I can't understand why budget hotel companies can't send someone off to Europe to look at the way a small hotel can provide inexpensive but appealing environments and wholesome food at breakfast.

I am from Brazil and I really found a very friendly staff in this Confort Inn. I have researched a lot of hotels before traveling and this was really a good choice. Really close to Beaver Creek and all that you need, ski rentals, food, shuttle to Beaver Creek. I prefer Vail them Beaver Creek and it was just about 10 minutes to Vail by car. Good breakfast, nice location and very clean rooms.
