“Outdated but Decent Price”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

Rooms were outdated but clean, service was average, prices were decent. Great for families on a budget.

We booked this by calling hotel, the printout we got said room was reserved until 7a the day following the reservation. We got in at 2a that night and the front desk agent (Billy) said we should have called because after 2 they would've cancelled it. We ended up with a room ok but he didn't acknowledge the actual print out from THEIR hotel that said we had until 7 the next day. He just said..."well I don't know why "they" would say that, it's not right." we even showed him the actual sheet of paper and he still put it on us. Frustrating.

Other than this, the room was ok (flat screen tv, very few channels) ok seating, the bed spread smelled like ferret but otherwise pretty clean and satisfactory.

I'd recommend for the location a price, just make sure you call if you're going in late because they might stick it to you!

2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

Arrived at the hotel on July 1st. Woman was alone in hotel and was dealing with all the check-ins and issues. Found out upon arrival that hot tub was being serviced. Was offered tickets to the Avon Activity Center across the street. "They are open until 9" the clerk said and so we ate dinner and rushed over. Apparently, it closed at 7pm. We also only had one towel in our room and the light in the bathroom was burned out. When we requested towels, the woman behind the counter couldn't get them. We had to wait until later when she was more free. She said that she was the only person on staff-no manager-no housekeeping. We tried the pool at the hotel after that and it was frigid cold. The room was clean and the TV was large and good. The breakfast was average to poor-they kept running out of things and there was no waffle batter even though there was apparently in the past. We paid a fair amount for the hotel so I think we expected better than this. Also, there was a disturbance (beyond the hotel's control) in the middle of the night and the police were called to the pool area. I'm sure this is a safe area but made me wonder how safe the hotel was considering there was only one person working. Wondered if the doors to the outside of the hotel at the exits were even locked (the person who caused the disturbance was at one point, on my floor.) Manager admitted that he was having staffing issues.

Omigosh, what a sad surprise this was. I should have stayed at the Sheraton across the street. While the room was adaquate and clean, the morning breakfast was 20 minutes late and still being set up at 6:30. It should have been set up by 6:00. The waffle batter was so bad it couldn't make a waffle. The (so-called) eggs were horrendous. There was a tray next to the eggs for meat (empty). The so-called orange juice was pathetic. It was just plain bad. There was one person who was the front desk clerk and the set-up person for the breakfast. They should absolutely hire someone to run the front desk apart from having to set up breakfast (when people are trying to check out. Choice Hotels was the wrong choice this time.

This was a nice stay. I can't say there was anything particularly remarkable about it, but that's not a bad thing (seeing as we always remember the bad experiences and not the others). This was quite a large hotel. The rooms were a bit spare, but were very comfortable and had great views from the room (felt like we were in a treehouse!).

I was looking at pictures from past reviewers and hoping we had made the right choice to stay at this hotel. Well, I can tell you that it was very clean and we never encountered any issues at all during our stay.

The hotel had a very nice, cozy, well-equipped breakfast area next to a fireplace in the lobby. Also, considering the hotels in the area (think Vail and you'll get the idea), this was a very affordable hotel with good rates and good value.

We travel with a dog, so need a pet friendly hotel. This is a good price, considering the area. Breakfast is always a disappointment at Comfort Inns, as the eggs are powdered or something.

The Lobby/Breakfast area is in a separate building from the hotel rooms. Take this into consideration in the winter.

The hot tub didn't seem to be working. Free internet.

Clean nice room, OK breakfast, near a lot of shops and restaurants, by far the lowest price I was able to find in the area.
Only complaint was the hot tub was open and when we inquired we were told to take the top off and go ahead and use it...when we did, it was not only 85 degrees (not hot)
