We stayed 6 days using points. I thought we might be treated as second class citizens, but I was wrong. Everyone gave us the finest of service. Best features: very well appointed room with kitchen that included microwave and fridge; attentive valets; responsive room attendants. For a fly fisherman, this was great being right on a nice streach of the Eagle River. Caught a nice trout within 30 minutes! Pool area is great for reading a people watching. Walking distance to great restaurants (Mirabelle, Vin48). Con: room wasn't ready until 3:30 when we arrived at 2;30. Oh, well, life's not perfect .... We loved this place!

The property was well kept and very relaxing. We had the 1100 sf. suite which have a full kitchen, appointed better than most homes. Even the restraurant was great. Excellent brunch for $12 per person. Wine list fairly priced. Lastly, the staff was as friendly and accommodating as any I've dealt with. We used Starwood Points, so the price was right.

Our family of 4 stayed here for a week for the Colorado Suzuki Institute. The accommodations were good considering the rate of $116.10 a night for a studio suite plus $49.39 a day for $20 resort charge/$15 valet/4%accommodation fee/taxes. My 4 and 7 year old slept well on the pull out sofa bed (with a cool-mist humidifier provided), while my wife and I had the extremely comfortable king size bed. The room also had a large flat-screen TV, and a balcony with 2 chairs and a small square outside table with a great view. In addition, the free wireless internet access was useful.
The bathroom was equipped with a nice-sized bathtub, a clear glass shower with 2 heads, and 2 adult bath robes (that we used for the pool). The only complaint was that they don't usually provide more shampoo/conditioner/dishwashing soap unless you ask for it.
The kitchen was fully equipped with a two-top stove and vent, microwave, a dorm-sized refrigerator (but no freezer), pots and pans, nice cutlery; ample number of dishes, bowls, cups, glasses; a toaster, and a dishwashing machine with detergent supplied. This was very useful as we cooked most of our meals in the room, with the City Market grocery store just a block away, but the hotel Marketplace on the lobby level also sold simple groceries like eggs, etc. along with hot food/gelato. We didn't eat at the in-house restaurant.
They have the best monitored workout facility with ample space for free weights, nautilus machines, treadmills, ellipticals and a personal trainer if you wish.
We enjoyed one of the 2 large hot tubs, and an almost Olympic sized (also outdoors) swimming pool with lanes and flippers/noodles/kick boards provided, along with an awesome towel service.
The valet service is out of this world. By the second day, the super-nice valets knew our name, and we hardly had to open the doors to the hotel or our minivan. Calling for our vehicle from the room was matched with prompt service. We never had to wait if we called 10 minutes ahead of time.
If you didn't drive up Beaver Creek mountain yourself, there is a free shuttle service to the BC resort operating every 10 minutes (the gondolas were not in service while we were there) but there is a slight walk to the Elk Lot on Beaver Creek property across the river from Avon/the hotel. A slight inconvenience that still saved us money.
I think next time we will try staying in the Beaver Creek Resort next to the Plaza to avoid a lot of walking.

I would highly recommend this hotel for any wedding party. My wife (then fiance) and I both work in the hotel business - so we understand better then most how hotels operate. The staff of this hotel was truly fantastic, the reception room was great, the views fantastic, but best of all - the food is truly as good as any 5 star resort. While I have many compliments for the staff - my hats off to the General Manager of the hotel. I had some concerns prior to our reception - he not only answered all my questions he and his staff followed up with me to continually update me. Again - as a Director of Sales for the largest hotel developer in the world - this GM, his staff and his hotel - simply put - rock!

Stayed in a studio suite - nice kitchen area which provides a ton of storage space for clothing. Great bed and comfortable seating area. Very nice and clean.

Fantastic restaurant - superb comfort food served late into the night (only if you can replace one of the bartenders, but otherwise service was awesome).

Pool, hot tub and spa are all top notch.
Easy access to Vail and although I would prefer to stay in Vail - it lacks hotels like the Westin. Easy access to BC via the Gondola.

Free wi-fi, ski valet are all nice touches.

Definitive complaint is lack of transportation from hotel. Westin is still working out a few kinks with that. You really need it as there is zero of interest in Avon. All fancy restaurants are up in BC and the return shuttle stops running at 10:30pm.

Definitely visit Spago at Ritz Carlton - awsome.

Thank you Westin for a terrific experience.

PS: was charged for late checkout even though Starwood Gold. Took a supervisor to acknowledge and reverse - minor annoyance, but know that more and more properties are automatically charging if not checked out by designated time.

This new hotel is elegantly understated with an inviting and warm atmosphere. Service is generally friendly but with some notable lapses. Disappointing access to slopes.

1. Room: The room (king std room with pullout sofa) was not large but very well appointed. Furniture was comfortable, new and very attractive. Although Starwood Preferred Guest and the hotel was far from full, we had a room with no view. Not a big issue, but a beautiful view would have been nice. Great, well-appointed kitchette area, nice recessed flat screen TV, fireplace, lots of nooks and crannies to store personal items. Room is very thoughtfully designed.

2. Bath: The bathroom is large, though the shower is unacceptably small. Double vanity and excellent storage.

3. Ski valet: This service is a great convenience, and of course, frees up lots of space in room. Some guys were excellent, some a little less engaged in their job. Perhaps a bit end of season apathy?

4. Concierge/Valet: Well, on the plus side, I will say they were all pretty friendly. I was called by a concierge prior to our trip and told to make sure to get our "grocery bag." Not sure what that meant, but it sounded fun. Upon our arrival, our valet had no idea what this was about, said he'd investigate right away and call us right back. As you can guess, we never heard from him or anyone else again. We had on-going discussions with several concierge about whether or not Beano's was still open for the season. It took a lot of our time, and we received many inconsistent answers. Finally, getting our car took forever both times. One time the key was placed on the wrong hook number, and no reason was provided the other time. When you pay $25/day and call from your room, you kinda want the car fast.

5. Housekeeping/Room Service: Sounds picky but housekeeping did not leave shampoo and conditioner on day 2 (yes we left a tip that morning!). As we were rushed to get ready for dinner and discovered this, we then have to wait over 20 minutes to have it delivered. Otherwise, housekeeping was fine. We ordered room service for one dinner. Typical quality for hotels in this category, though prices on the higher end.

6. Gondola: This was very disappointing. We were in town to ski and would have never booked the hotel had we known the gondola was down for the season. During our late night check in, the valet, in fact, told us exactly where the gondola was for and touted it as really convenient. We learned from our waiter at breakfast the next morning that the gondola had stopped running one week earlier due to cost. This should have been properly disclosed on the website (which prominently claims easy convenience to the slopes via the gondola) or during the registration process. With 3 kids, waiting for buses, was a drag. And, the bus does not run from 11:30 to 2:30, which was very inconvenient.

7. Pool/Hot Tubs: They were terrific. Hot tubs were very nicely heated, with great views.

8. Tidbits: Great biz center with free printing. Nice market/deli. Very good breakfast at Avondale.

As an attorney, I was soured by the misrepresentation about the gondola. But, otherwise, with a few service lapses that more experience will surely fix, our brief 3 night stay was enjoyable.

We have reccently spent 14 days at this hotel booked through Ski Independance. The service was excellent, and the staff very courteous. Good locatiojn for shops, supermarket and restau which were all within a 5 minute walk. The lobby area has a nice relaxing feel to it, open fireplace and comfortable sofas and a bar area. The restaurant did a nice breakfast and there was also a deli on-site. The ski valet service was excellent, very nice group of guys, they unpack your skis/boots and hold them there for you. Each day you collect your boots and they place your skis outside ready for you to go. Then at the end of day, they put them all back. On our departure they packed the skis boots back into their carriers for us. The gondola outside the hotel takes you across the river to the first chairlift which then takes you up to the slopes. You can ski back down to get back onto the gondola for your return journey via 'Leave the Beav'. There are three hot tubs and salt water swimming pool outside, with views of the mountain, plus a good gym and a spa. Buses to Vail (ECO -Transit) and Beavercreek stop outside. $10 return to Vail. We had a studi suite which was big enough for us two. It had a little kitchenette with all amenities, a large bathroom and decent sixe living/sleeping area, with 32inch LCD television and gas fire. We also had a balcony. The room was very comfortable and clean. Free internet in the room for guests.
The ski area of Beavercreek was better than we expected, nice long tree-lined runs, minimum queue and again excellent customer service on the slopes both from the staff in the mountain restaurants and the ski hosts. Nicely groomed blues and greens, a good resort for beginners and intermediates. I would also recommend the Nordic centre, fabulous service very thorough. It is next to Strawberry Express lift. We went snow shoeing and the scenery on the prepared trails (McCoy Park) was beautiful.
We certainly can't wait to return to this hotel and resort in the future, we had a fabulous time.
