Om Tulum Hotel Cabanas and Beach Club

I booked this place because of all the positive reviews on the site but it was way below our expectations. It was way overpriced, first of all, for what you get, and the place is beyond disorganized, even though everyone is very sweet there. When I arrived, I had booked an ocean view room through the hotel website and of course, we got to the reception, and she says, we have a problem. She gave some excuse about the internet being down and put us in a garden view. Which was fine because it was cheaper but annoying because it was not what I booked. That was the first of problems. The room was way below mediocre, and the shower barely worked. The beds and linens were extremely uncomfortable. If the price of the room was 2/3 of what it really was, I wouldnt be complaining about all these things.
The food and drinks there are overpriced also. I would recommend eating and drinking in the town, it is twice as cheap and twice as good as all the hotels. Also, I booked this place because it said on the website there was internet there, but they said there was a "storm" the night before and their internet was down, which was a huge annoyance. We had to go next door to Ocho Tulum to use their wireless. Apparently the "storm" only hit the Om. When we paid, they made us pay the full price despite that we had put a deposit down on booking the room to confirm the reservation. We had to go back and ask for our deposit back, another hassle. Also, they were so disorganized that when we paid, she didn't give me my license back despite insisting on holding it when I checked in. With the many options on beautiful Tulum Beach, I would definitely recommend staying somewhere else.

What a beautiful place to chill, enjoy great food and party on the beach. Things to do there are yoga, tai chi, meditaition, raed a good book, or go for a run on the beach. And if you are there in the summer in the month of august you can watch the turtles come on shore and lay their eggs and a month later they're hatching. So yes this is qiute a nice place to hang and meet really cool people from all over, I highly recomend it. Oh by the the theme is indian and the place reflects that theme of tranquility.

“OM good but could be better”

This hotel is on a gorgeous beach, and the staff are sweet and so wonderfully helpful and nice! The rooms are really, really big, and there are two large beds in each. However, the rooms could be so much nicer with just a tiny bit of effort---the decor is pretty horrible, with these nasty fake suede bedspreads and cheap Indian style cloths thrown over the wardrobe.

All OM would have to do to be a premium boutique hotel would be to add some small shampoos, creams and nicer soaps to the rooms; keep the interior design in dark wood and red, as it is on the outside; and provide a better breakfast (the 'continental' consists of cheap white toast and coffee...a fruit plate and better bread would make a huge difference). I really hope they do this, as I have stayed at three places in Tulum and very few of them are quality design hotels, though some have the potential....

“I can die now... I saw paradise!”

Om Tulum Hotel Cabanas and Beach Club

I just return a couple of days ago from Mexico. I went to Playa Del Carmen and Tulum... Aaaahhh.... Tulum!! I can die now because I saw paradise! What an amazing place! There is no big hotel around, just small ones! There's nearly nobody on the amazing beach. You can walk for miles!! I ran every morning and I went down south of the beach and at one point... I was alone. Great! No traffic. You can just relax and have fun!
OmTulum is a small place of less than a dozen of rooms. It's a beautifull place with really nice staff. I ate there the 2 days that I was there and the food was amazingly good! The view from the resto is superbe! The rooms where beautifull, confortable beds and really clean. I slept like a baby with the sound of the ocean near by. It's a really quiet place but if you want to party, there's small hotel close where you can dance. Unless you are reaaally tired and want to read dozen of books, 2 up to 4 days is enough for me since I was there alone.
I would DEFINITLY go back!!!

ps... sorry for my english... french is my 1st language
