My wife and I were recommended La Luna by friends who claimed it was one of the best places in Tulum. We realized very quickly that they were right. The owners and managers are all Dutch and extremely concerned with even the smallest details. We came with our baby daughter and not only did they provide a crib with mosquito netting, they also arranged a babysitter. Beyond that, on one spur-of-the-moment evening, we even left our monitor with the front desk while we went out for dinner!
The food is great (seriously some of the best we had anywhere in Tulum), the staff is wonderful, the rooms are all different and unique, the beach is flat and wide (more so than other areas we walked past) and the landscaping makes you feel a step away from any intrusion.
We loved the place and have already booked for next year. Absolutely one of if not the best place on the beach.

Such special memories from out 9 day visit at La Luna! The staff was over the top friendly and we felt like family by the end of the first day...Walking down a sandy path to the pristine & long white sand beach early in the morning was heaven. The food was fantastic and my husband was a Chef for 20yrs so we're tough critics. Every staff member from the security guys to the waiters were outstanding. The management is happy and helps in every way possible. Tulum Beach was a chillin' place to decompress with our adult kids after our daughter graduated from College early. We all needed a retreat and it was just what it was advertised to be! I was born and raised in Hawaii and am used to paradise so was hesitant to go to Mexico but Tulum and La Luna convinced me that we will be back to visit our friends there! Thanks to all, we miss our chats with you....

Each year my family returns to La Luna. We have always had the most wonderful experience- family and child friendly (but also so romantic, for the love birds!) The staff are so kind, professional and great at answering all questions and helping out however they can. The food is delicious, fresh and imaginative- we barely ever go elsewhere! Very very clean, and beautiful plants, flowers and birds everywhere. And the beach. Pristine. We will continue to return to this magical place we call our Mexican home! If you have a large family, Villa Zanzibar is the place to stay. Private pool, private dining area (they will bring your breakfast/lunch/dinner right down to you if you wish!), and also a kitchen for whipping up you own margaritas :)

We spent 2 nights out of our 7 day vacation at La Luna. The staff was exceptional and friendly, and the food was amazing. The only thing I'd suggest for travelers is to take a beach hut suite. I didn't like being above the kitchen in the jungle suite simple due to the smell of the food. We went to a lot of places on the beach and noticed that La Luna offers the best price for the Mexican experience; food, service, beach and cleanliness. Not to mention it is close yoga and not pretentious like the other hotels on the beach.
