“Very good all inclusive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I had a great family holiday here, the resort is large and well maintained with plenty to do. We had standard rooms and they were lovely, they were located in the centre of the resort so were very peaceful. I'm glad I didn't ask for a sea view as there was a lot going on by the pools and restaurants. If you like spending a lot of time on your balcony so want a great view be prepared for it to be noisy. Housekeeping was good and quickly became used to our schedule, the mini bar soon became stocked with our favorites.
The food is very good with plenty of choice of restaurants for a two week holiday. My favourites were the French, Italian, Asian and Seaside Grill. Co Co's is good for a light lunch and "proper" coffee and the smoothie bar is brilliant. Staff were friendly and efficient. Make sure you have plenty of small denomination Mexican currency with you for tips, they will expect it, it's not like many Europian all inclusives which have a no tipping policy, but the service is much better as a result. The only eating place I really didn't like was the large buffet resturant where we had breakfast, it was dark and dated, though this may have been refurbished since my visit, too busy and with not enough staff to serve the fresh coffe or water. However, the rest of my family liked the food selection here so maybe I'm being a little harsh, I'm not a morning person!
The beach is beautiful and the entertainment pool is certainly that, very lively and great for people watching. My holiday here was in August so all pools and beach areas were extremely busy with not enough sun loungers or parasols. One of our party put our towels out at 8am at the quiter end of the beach to ensure we had sun beds and shade, families that wished to be by the pools were reserving sun beds at about 6 am! Hotel management could alleviate this problem by putting more sun beds and parasols around both pools and also on the beach but this resort really needs another pool area, their simply isn't enough beachfront space to cope with peak capasity. I notice reviewers with younger children would like a pool with slides and play equipment so maybe future development could include this towards the middle or back of the resort?
I didn't use the spa as it was too expensive, especially when you consider the wage rates of the people doing the treatments.
The gym was a disappointment, equipment and building not to the standard of the rest of the resort, either no air conditioning or it couldn't cope and the music was often unbearably loud so you were sweaty with a headache within about five minuets.
Plenty to do within a short drive of this hotel, Mayan ruins surrounded by jungle for culture vulters, Senotes, beautiful beaches, warm sea, turtles, dolphins and coral reefs for nature lovers and adventure parks with zip wires and cave diving for the thrill seekers.
If you are traveling out of peak season and a gyms not important to you I would highly recommend this hotel.

This was a very unplanned and a last minute holiday. We were in Florida after delivering a yacht from the mediterranean and at the spur of the moment we decided to go to Mexico before returning to Europe. It was a too good to be true all inclusive one week offer. We stayed at one of the massive suites overlooking the beautiful gardens of the resort. All restaurants were exceptionally good during all times of the day, excellent food and service. The all inclusive included all the best brands of alcohol and all water sports including trimaran sailing. The evening entertainment was excellent too. This was our first time that we took an all inclusive package and we were really not expecting a fraction of what we actually received. It was a fantastic holiday from all aspects, highly recommended!

Resort seemed a little tatty. Service and personnel were the only saving grace for the price. Towels had marks on. Not on in room jacuzzi bath cleanliness so didn't use. Sand under bed not from us. Entertainment weak with little to be seen on rainy days and nights.

I travelled alone with my son (4 years) and had booked the trip my self only based on the ratings on tripadvisor and expedia. We were not dissapointed. The beach is of course fabulous and with few waves and sandy bottom, so it was safe for him to play in the water. The pools do not have a lot of playthings for kids, but we brought a ball and snorkelling gear, and that was all he needed. Plenty of sunchairs in both shade and sun, and good service both at the beach and by the pools. The entertainment pool can however get a little noisy :)
The food is excellent, and the choices plenty. The buffet however lacked a little compared to the other restaurants, as well as the outdoor snack bar by the pools. We loved the little smoothie bar and all of the restaurants welcomed my son. We ate at the mexican, the sea side grill, the buffet, the french, the asian and the sushi. Excellent service and just a whole lot of value for money. The rooms are beautiful and we loved the jacuzzi bathtub.
There were a lot of activities with the kids club, however my son did not go there.

We loved Dreams Tulum. After check in our first room was dirty and they were very apologetic and quickly moved us to a new upgraded room. It was fun having lots of choices for food. Food is mediocre, but it's fine. Some things were really really good and some things were bad. Lots of choices and plenty of options. Staff is very friendly and happy. We really enjoyed Victor, our waiter at the French Restaurant, but overall, we had no issues with staff. They are all so eager to help and serve. We also didn't really have issues with the time share people at all. The nightly entertainment is ... interesting. Entertaining for sure, but don't expect to be blown away. It was fun though. We had a great time. Pools are nice. Beach is nice, but rocky. Overall, we loved it and hope to come back with our kids next time!

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms are really not "ocean view" except for a few. Don't bother upgrad...

Loved it again. This was our second visit to this resort and 3rd to an AM resort ( Zoetry in 2012) and this time it was for our wedding. Had lots of rain but this is the risk in October. The sun came out in full force for our wedding day so I did get to have my perfect beach ceremony. Thanks to Anabel for everything. She really took care of us and helped make our day go so smooth. Rosley did my hair and make up and she was excellent. We hired del sol as our photographer and kept the hotel photographer for guest pics. Great choice. Teo took great pics and we really loved the video that they put together in an afternoon. Amazing!!

Suggestions for improvement:
We had a couples massage in the rainforest cabin which I loved. Thanks Ana. Rain poured in though. Should fix this as it rained into the electrical outlets. Could not use the jacuzzi as water was too cool and not so clean.

Although we did not get any phone calls, lots of our guests did receive multiple early morning calls waking them up as well as waking up a tired baby during nap times. This frustrated them all. A note through the door would be more ideal.

I would gladly return as it is a beautiful resort with great service and food.

Dreams Tulum is absolutely gorgeous! So gorgeous that my boyfriend (now fiance proposed on the beach at the resort). We had an amazing time and a truly unforgettable trip!

We were upgraded upon arrival from there regular garden view room to the adults only section. We never encountered any noise where we were. Yes, the adult’s only section is the furthest away from the pools, beach, and restaurants, but we didn’t mind because we love walking.

The shower was a huge walk-in shower that could easily fit two individuals. The room came with a jacuzzi tub. I enjoyed the tub once. My only complaint, the water was only luke warm and took too long to fill. We had his and her sinks.

The king bed in the bedroom was huge and felt like a firm cloud. We had a large TV and DVD player. At first, the DVD player wouldn’t play our movies because it was a player zoned for European DVDs but we quickly had someone come and switch it out for a player that accommodated American DVDs.

Each room is equipped with a mini-fridge stocked with beer, water, soda, and juice. The person who stokes the fridge and the maid are two different people. If you leave a note (and tip) in the fridge, they will give you what your prefer. When we arrived we only had Modelo, but we asked for Coronitas and we got them.

The maid always cleaned our room so well and changed our bedding daily. We only had turndown service half the days we were there because we were always in the room during turndown, but the few times we had it, we got towels in the shape of swans and an elephant.

The only negative comment I have about the room, not enough drawer space.

Lunch and dinner, GREAT. Gohan has very flavorful sashimi. Both times we went, we just asked the chef to give a good mix of whatever he thought was the best and we got to try a lot of great sushi/sashimi. Gohan has great cold sake.

Hitmitsu, the Asian-themed restaurant, was pretty okay. I thought all the appetizers were much better than the entrees.

Portofino, the Italian restaurant was my favorite. The grouper fish dish was cooked to perfection. It was buttery and creamy. The eggplant con crema was also to die for.

El Patio, the Mexican restaurant, we never had an opportunity to eat there for dinner but they have beautiful delicious soup. If you can deal with eating soup while it’s 80 degree, I would recommend.

The Seaside Grill looks like it’s very casual but the presentation of the food is beautiful. I was a big fan of the buffalo wings.

Bordeaux was okay. It’s the adults-only French restaurant. The house wine was very unpalatable. And I have no complaints about the food, but nothing was memorable to me, not like Portofino.

We never ate the Barefoot Grill. It looked like cheap American food and not very appealing. We saw no reason to eat there when the Seaside Grill is so much better looking and right next to the pools too.

Breakfast, not great at the resort restaurants. Seaside Grill’s menu was pretty plain and the breakfast buffet was mostly eggs and sausages and pastries. No bacon. The pancakes were tough.

Instead, we had room service for breakfast and the room service breakfast however, is INCREDIBLE. The bacon was thick and delicious. Lots of options and always arrived to our room in about 35 mins.

Room service at night was also very good for what it was. Everything on the menu was just basic American food like hot dogs and club sandwiches. But we loved it as a late night snack and ordered food every night after dinner.

Fire and Light show is a must seen. Very impressive performance.

During football season, they show Monday Night Football on the beach. It’s cooler and the ocean breeze feels great.

The Entertainment team leads aerobics, volleyball, and games at the activities pool. Very fun but they don’t force you to participate if you just want to relax.

While there, they had Oktoberfest. The sausages were yummy, I had three but when we asked for German beer, our response back was “Corona?” That was a bummer.

There are two pools. Only the activities pool has a swim-up bar so we never went to the other pool. Seats near the pool, were VERY hard to get so we almost always had to get a chair facing the ocean on the beach. I didn’t mind though.

The ocean water is very warm. There’s a lot of seaweed when you first walk in. You just have to push through until you get about knee-deep in. Then the seaweed goes away. The waves are gentle and barely there.

We were shocked for a family resort how many bars there are. The swim-up bar had a large selection of blended drinks. The Sugar Reef bar would have karaoke at night. The Lounge bar is between three restaurants and we never went to just relax and sit but used it more to grab a drink on the go.

A secret bar that’s not advertised on the website is the Bar Jalisco. A lot of the rooms have a tiny bar in their building. It’s only open from, I think, 4pm-6pm. But we went 2-3 times and it was nice to grab drinks to take back to your room while you are getting ready for dinner. If you have a swim-up room, they will also bring you drinks in the pool during those hours.

Gorgeous location! It’s right next to a tropical jungle and we walked down the beach, very relaxing! The staff go out of their way to make you happy, especially if you’re always nice, never demanding, and tip well. They deserve it. They take security very seriously at the resort. And they provide a great service!
