“Wonderful Experience at Dreams Tulum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We just returned from 5 days at Dreams Tulum and our experience could not have been better! From our arrival, complete with lemon scented towels and champagne, to our final moments watching the sunrise on the beach before checking out, everything was top rate. To begin, our room was spotless and super-convenient to the beach, pool, restaurants, and all amenities. The food in the restaurants was tasty and very fresh (loved the freshly pressed green juice at breakfast). Even though it was Easter week and there were many families there, the resort never felt overcrowded and service was incredible! We were always able to get a seat at the restaurant of our choice. We met families from all over the globe - from the Netherlands to a family from our home town! The kids activities were wonderful and the events team kept young and old entertained throughout the day and night. Many thanks to everyone at Dreams Tulum for an incredible vacation filled with happy memories!

We recently enjoyed a beautiful wedding on the beach at Dreams Tulum. The setting for the ceremony was wonderful. The reception on the beach and dinner at the Seaside Grill reserved this evening for just those attending the wedding was very nice. The grounds at Dreams Tulum are lush and well manicured. Our deluxe suite was very nice although we thought the lighting, particularly in the bathroom, was not very good. Our favorite dinner was at Portifino, their Italian restaurant. We also enjoyed dinner in Bordeaux, their French restaurant. The breakfast buffet in the World Café was very good. The beach is long and beautiful with light wave action, but there are quite a few rocks in the water just off the beach. All in all it was a very good location for a destination wedding.

Room Tip: As the resort covers a lot of real estate, some of the rooms are quite a walk from the restaurants...

Our family if six, four adults (grandparents included) two children stayed at Dreams the first week in April. Two years ago we went to Dreams PV. We were amazed by the huge grounds, architecture, and gardens upon arriving. We were very fortunate to have an Oceanview room in building number 8 on the ground floor. The pool and beach was a few steps outside our door. The kids loved the pools. The ocean space behind the main pool has a sandy bottom with a water trampoline and slide for kids. We saw lots of neat fish swimming around us. You can also walk in either direction for miles and go exploring.
We tried all the restaurants. We liked Seaside Grill a lot and Portifino. The kids loved the World Cafe fir comfort food, although I found it very hot there.
Rooms were great. Loved the shower. The beds were comfortable. Our fridge wasn't very cold so we didn't use the drinks except for the water.
Our seven year old son really enjoyed the Explorer's Club. We had to drag him out at the end of the day.
One of our family members brought along a scooter for longer walking distances. We found the resort was very assessable.
All in all, we would return to this place. We are used to road trips from where we live, so the hour long drive was not a big deal for us.

Room Tip: Book building number 8 as it is close to the pool area.

We loved our vacation at Dreams Tulum. Being wary of an all inclusive, we were pleasantly surprised. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms, good food, great bartenders and lots of activities. Great coffee bar, smoothie bar and breakfast buffet. There was a slight delay in seating 5 people at the restaurants, but we only had to separate for one meal over the 5 days during our stay. Upon our arrival after a long journey we were greeted with a cool towel and a glass of champagne. Awesome! Then we were sat down to discuss the resort which turned into a sale pitch about the properties. My husband and I immediately got annoyed. We were hot and tired and just wanted to enjoy our desperately needed retreat after a crappy long Northeast winter and we just glazed over the intro and didn't get an accurate first impression. We had two garden view rooms on the same floor, which was nice, but one was more humid and never quite cool enough.
The mini bar was always stocked with water bottles, beer and soda. Overall we loved it and would consider staying at another Dreams Resort.

My husband and I stayed here April 6-13, it was a perfect break from the freezing Canadian winter, and a perfect place to come to our friend's wedding. The beach was a bit rocky, but there were other perfect beaches near-by (the Tulum ruins for example). The spa there was fantastic too! The food was the only thing that was a bit boring sometimes.

Swimming: The beachfront itself is stunning, soft white sands,- yet, if you try to walk beyond the hotels borders in either dirction the beach is littered with trash so you are essentially confined to the cleared area in front of the resort itself. Also, although the water is crysal clear, there are many coral (?) rocks throuhout the water, take one step you are on solid ground, another - oops! However, there are other swimming options that are marvelous - one large, and one very large serpentine pools are the best I've encountered at the 4 other all inclusives at which we have stayed (royal playa del carmen, secrets silversands, akumal beach resort, hacienda tres rios.).

Service: at the beach and in the restaurant it's very very good. The entertainment staff were present, pleasant, and prepared. I learned to salsa, and even took a scuba lesson during which although it was my first time and i was a little worried, I felt very supported and agreed with friends that it felt less claustophobic than snorkleing.

The concierge and desk clerk service could improve their people skills. Arriving at 3:30 pm, it was not until 8:30 pm that suitable rooms were found - no apologies given. The first issue was a loss of one of my 2 room reservations - on arrival the desk clerk said only one room was reserved rather than two, second, the initial room shown was dank, dark and without a bathtub. By the time suitable rooms were found, they were very good - both large and with jacuzzi's. And while one room had a king bed rather than the 2 doubles we had requested, the folding bed brought in was fine for my granddaughter. a weird aside in the first unacceptable room shown, there was complementary bottles of wine and tequila. These were not perks in the room I finally ended up with and i was told, my room didn't get this; my 7 and 9 year old granddaughters' rooms did have these extras!:

Concierge service: Although a concierge at another hotel said she had been calling frequently; I never got a message nor was the gift she had send me delivered. On inquiring about sending a package to a Mexican address, first I was told it was impossible, later that it took 2 days to set up and by then I was going home.

Food: the specialty restaurants were all very good with the exception of the Asian Restaurant which definitely was not. The buffet was not as good as any of the other properties we had previously stayed, including the Akumal Beach Resort which was a much more basic resort. You can take out food in one restaurant and bring it to another, which we did on a few occassions. The coco bar which is open most of the time, serves sandwhiches and modest desserts (overall the desserts were mediocre throughout the resort) although their frozen bailey's drinks were wonderful.

Nightly entertainment was surprisingly good. A fire show and an urban hip hop performance were excellent; and my grandkids liked the yo yo performance on another night.

Would I return to this resort? - probably not. It's facilities weren't as nice as the royal playa del carmen and it was way more expensive than the akumal beach resort to which, now that i've experienced so many all inclusives, would be the most preferable. at akumal, while modest and without any glitz, every room is an ocean view, and while it only has a one buffet restaurant, the food was consistently good. it is an excellent value.

Room Tip: ocean front rooms (and there are only a few) were quite noisy. we liked our garden view rooms; the...

I stayed at this hotel from the 29th march to the 13th April, We travelled in a party of 8 for my Dad and Step mums wedding and wewre joined by a group of friends for the 2nd week.

First thing; I have never been on a holiday where the resort is actually better than the photos on trip advisor! As you walk through the resort there is soothing music, palm trees and fountains sorrounding you. The grounds are kept immaculate.

I'm 20 Years old, Have two teenage brothers and a younger sister of 5, we are a variety of ages but every single one of us enjoyed our selves. The kids club and Disco in the evenings were great for my sister and the other children who joined us.
Fantastic selection of food and drinks, Our favourite restaurant for the evening is the seaside grill, Yummy!

We had the wedding on the 9th day of the holiday and opted for the Chapel Service, Followed by mexican Trio and Cocktails on the beach, and had the reception by the pool.
It really was a beautiful day and the staff couldnt do enough for us.

Special thanks to a few members of staff,
Daniel - The poolside/beach Waiter is fantastic, He kept my brothers entertained with his different accents and good sense of humour.
Ragina who served us dinner on a number of occasions at the Seaside Grill has got excellent customer service, best dinner service we had all holiday!
Jessica from the world cafe was forever offering us drinks and again, nothing was too much trouble.
Kristian who worked at the Bar by sea side grill was fantastic with my brothers, every night they'd come back with stories about Kristian and are going to stay in touch with him.

Room service was fantastic, quick and efficient service and food was lovely.

The beach is beautiful and the Hour boat trip to the mexican ruins is advised.
Pools are beautiful and clean.

All in all the Holiday was beautiful can't fault it,
A big thank you to everyone who made our family holiday and the wedding that extra bit special.
We will return to this hotel and give a good review to all of our family and friends :)
