We traveled for two weeks from Cancun to the Belize border, staying at five different properties over the 14 nights. I booked four nights in Tulum; two at Posada Luna del Sur, and two at Los Lirios. Both were based on tripadvisor information I researched before booking. As we are looking for a second home, we wanted community exposure from both the beach and town perspectives of Tulum. The beach was second to none in its beauty and low population density. Because of the high humidity and salty tradewinds, our clothing, books, cash, etc. quickly took on the sticky, salty feeling. Mind you, we are ocean lover water sign folks. So, we got our beach fix (which we got just as easily the other two days at the Evans' lovely abode). There was nothing we disliked about our stay. From the moment we pulled in, rang the bell, were greeted by Graham, to meeting Sarah and Marty, and the incredible towel art of Jesus, our stay was just perfect. We were so fortunate to be there when the penthouse palapa was started. What an experience to hear the story of how they pulled these massive wood supports up from the street by ropes. We also got to watch the rapid progress. The very best part though, is that we have a perfect excuse to return! We just HAVE to see that completed structure! We have traveled the world and stayed in everything from eco domes with no electricity to five star all inclusives, and have yet to encounter the friendliness and graciousness of the Evans family. Their intent is to connect with people, not only as fellow adventurers but also as fellow humans. There is no reason to stay anywhere else. If you, like us, just HAVE to hear the waves lull you to sleep at night, do it for a night but then quickly return to Posada Luna del Sur. Make no mistake, you will be delighted you did.
