After having paid more than one hundred US dollars for four shrimp, a piece of fish, a plate of potato, some asparagus, a beer and a mojito, we're feeling the burn. This would be expensive in New York. In Mexico on the side of a road covered in mosquitoes, with a view of nothing but jungle and a backyard pool it's just painful. The food was good, no question, but at these prices it would have to be. Go there, but be prepared to pay London prices....

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you liked our food, which is our main goal: offering good quality food and service. We understand some people think that since it is Mexico and in the middle of the jungle the food should be inexpensive. However, those factors make it even more expensive to operate. In Tulum there is no electricity, so we need to generate our own energy. We offer the best quality fish and seafood of the country, flying it all the way from Baja California to Cancun's airport and then driving it down to Tulum, obviously adding up to the costs. We have a large staff in order to be able to offer good service, and even in low season we have not reduced it. We do focus on quality and we have even lowered down our margins in order to give a good value to our customers for what they are paying. If you go to any other restaurant in Tulum beach you will find that our prices are on the lower range, given the quality that we offer. We're sure that once you try other restaurants around the area, you'll come back to Simple, as most of our customers do.
