“Sunset Tulum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

This is the spot, get there at 17h00 and sit by the rail, too many people crowd the rails a few minutes later. Main courses at dinner are for two so be warned, the server might not explain this. The special of the day was mixed grill of, octopus, squid, prawns, (sergeant fish I think) and it was WOW. Locals doing the cooking and nothing was overcooked, everything tender and fresh, best octopus and squid ever (and I've had at sea side in Portugal). The choices are good and the staff are nice if not on top of the game. Ask for a candle as you arrive and let them know you're having dinner. This is an NGO with outlets and we went twice once for a sundowner and once for the Eco-tour (with lunch). Very interesting location with accommodation options that would suit many. If you care for turtles come in the summer this would be a great what did you do last summer story builder. Oh and they take CC, but don't move the device the signal drops... Truly a nice place with nice people.

“Sian Ka'an”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

Sian Ka'an,1.3 million acres biosphere reserve south of Tulum that starts at the stone archway after Tulum beach. Drive along with the Caribbean Sea on one side and Jungle on your right. Mexico the way it was ment to be seen. Stop along the drive and go for a swim or keep going and half way between tulum and punta allan (45 min) is a spot called Xamach dos. You have to stop and get a bite to eat,a cold drink or stay for some days you will not regret it.

We floated down some tubes through a crystal clear, quiet stream. A unique experience that I highly recommend. We went thought in Fall of 2010
