The other reviews have been very accurate, so rather than repeat the details, here's is what it's like. When you wake up, you shuffle through the sand to a delicious breakfast. After quickly ordering from the friendly staff, you start with coffee, yogurt, granola, and fresh fruit. Then you're served a delicious breakfast. When you finish your plate, the staff politely asks, "anything else?" I can confirm that if you say yes, the second breakfast is as delicous as the first. Then you can motivate to visit the ruins, drive into town, hit the beach, or, as I frequently did, take a nap. A quick drive into town at noon with a cooler (they have 'em), and we were stocked on Negra Modelo and tequila. The afternoons were spent on the semi-private (but pretty much private) beach reading, napping, swimming, and drinking. Since breakfast is served only to guests, the place is extremely private. It's a small detail, but the fact that there is no public restaurant really makes it feel very exclusive as only hotel guests are ever there.
The manager was happy to provide dinner suggestions, which were all within walking distance and very tasty. Also, since breakfast is so ample (and included in the price), we only ate one other meal a day, which really makes this place a great value as well as just being flat out amazing.
I was there with my wife for our honeymoon, and if I could change anything, I wouldn't.

The stretch of beach the cabanas are located on is quiet and beautiful, a perfect place to relax and unwind.
They take care of the little details, such as providing a cooler for enjoying your drinks on the beach and having plenty of bottled water for use in the bathroom.
The rooms are very clean and airy.
Having no electricity after ten p.m. was not a problem, as candles are prepared around the room, which added to the charm of the cabanas.
The included breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, and a small kitchen which had a few options like eggs, french toast, pancakes, etc. Very simple and very good.

“Beautiful”

I booked our week stay here well in advance, as it was Easter week. The people at Different World were very efficient, and we had no problems with the booking.
The cabanas are beautifully decorated, and the whole setting is what you would expect from Tulum. The electric goes off at 10pm, which in my mind only made it more romantic. The beach was virtually private, and any non-guests were soon chased off the sunbeds! Great breakfast too.
At the time we were living in Mexico, and we did find Tulum a little expensive compared to the rest of the country. Tulum still holds all its charm, unlike Cancun, and I would encourage anyone to visit before it becomes Cancun. Cabanas la Conchita would be a perfect place to stay.

We just returned from 7 perfect days at la Conchita. The rooms are simple and clean and have ample indoor and outdoor living space. The food is delicious and made to order. The owner and his team are warm and helpful. This is the right place for people who like relative privacy, plenty of quiet, simplicity, and the feeling of being close to nature. There are many restaurants within walking distance down the beach (we love Zamas) and in town (try Chitla off the main strip for a totally different gourmet experience). We were traveling with our two sons (9 and 12) and they loved the upstairs room in Cabana #2 with its palapa roof and their own private balcony. We will most definitely return to la Conchita for more time on the beach.

This was truly a Caribbean paradise. The cabana we stayed in (#7) was lovely and very comfortable. The white sandy beach is literally a stone's throw from the cabanas. The bed was very comfortable, as was the hammock on our front "porch." Bottled water and beach towels are provided. The breakfast is excellent and quite ample. The "no lights" policy, except from 6-10 PM, was no problem. In fact, it added to the peace and quiet of the setting. There are plenty of good restaurants within easy walking distance and the ruins of Tulum are only a few kilometers away. Renting a car to come here is a good plan, as there are many interesting places to visit in the area. Bring a flashlight, be sure to spend some time star gazing and come to relax in paradise. This is not your place if you want a nightclub scene and can't live without your hair dryer. We usually like to try new places when we travel, but we definitely plan to revisit Cabanas la Conchita.
