This was our second trip to Tulum. We stayed both times at Cabanas la Luna, the home of this restaurant. On our first trip we weren't overly impressed with the food, and only ate one dinner here. This time around, we decided to give it another try, and we were pleased that we did. We ate several meals here -- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The meals are pretty simple, but consistently well done and tasty, at very fair prices. The staff at the bar are friendly, easy to be with, and can steer you to some new local tastes on the liquor trail if you let them. The space is very cute, with seating inside and out. Closes a bit early -- 9:00 o'clock or so, but you'll probably want to get there early anyway since you'll either be going to bed early to catch the sunrise, or going out afterwards. If you want something light, try the Caribbean salad -- tasty and just the right size. Also, terrific fish tacos at lunchtime. If they have a lobster special, grab it -- they buy the lobster right off the boat from the beach -- couldn't be fresher.
