From the moment we steppet foot in Xibilba, we were pleased with our choice. We arrived quite late on a tuesday, and was welcomed by Hairo, one of the wonderful persons working on Xibalba. The reception is usually open between 8 am and 7 pm, but we had given a notice abaout our late arrival, so it was no problem.
The room was loveley. A large king size bed, table with chairs, a fridge, AC, large closet with a safe and a nice bathroom with a shower. It was really nice and clean and everything was quite new (or at least looked like it).
Breakfast is really nice. Since Xibalba is a really small hotel, you get breakfast made on demand. We had to choose from pancakes, omelet or scrambled eggs with ham, cheese, tomato, onion (maybe moore). Since the breakfast is made on demand, they make it as you want. There is also fresh fruit, granola and youghurt, orange juice and coffe.
Xibalba hotel is placed nice and quietly in the outer part of downtown Tulum. The main street, where you find most reasturants and shops, is really close, just a three minute walk away. And there are also two supermarkets nearby, if you want to shop groceries.
The beach is a short taxiride away. Taxis are cheap, so its no problem.
Everyone who works on Xibalba are really nice and helpful and made our stay wonderful.
We also took the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course at Xibalba. It was a great experience and i would recommend it. Our instructor was Hairo. He was a good teacher, he always made sure everyone understood and made it a good and safe experience. Don't misunderstand, he's also really fun, and we were never bored.
(we also heard from som other divers that Xibalba is one of the best dive centers in Tulum!)
All in all Xibalba is a small, but great hotel, even if you don't want to dive.
I would say no room is better than the other.
