“Impossible to sleep! Next to Nightclub ”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Next to a nightclub that plays full volume dance music into the open air until 3am. When that one finally stops, you can hear the music from the one the other side, which finally closes at 5am. The music was so loud in our first floor room, that at 3am I had to shout at my husband in the next bed in order for him to be able to hear me speak. I love music, but attempting to sleep was like trying to sleep inside the nightclub itself, it really is THAT LOUD!

The hotel are obviously very aware of the problem and provide earplugs, but they're just futile, the noise is incredible.

Apparently the club plays live music at least four nights a week, including Saturday and Sunday (we checked in Saturday and checked out first thing Sunday, we'd intended to stay longer but had about an hour's sleep.) - but I don't know which other nights/early mornings the music is on.

Otherwise, the room was clean. The breakfast bun was nice, but the coffee served was tepid, sour and weak, from one of those jugs that is used to keep it warm for hours, it tasted like it had been made from reused grounds.

The hotel looks okay, but this really is the noisiest place I have ever stayed in.

Great little hotel in the middle of Tulum. We stayed here for one night as a group of friends travelling across Mexico.
Air conditioning worked well and shower had a good power behind it.
Breakfast was provided in the morning and it consisted of tea/coffee, juice, toast and fruit. Very basic but great value for money.
The location was close to the bus station which was handy in the heat and was easy to catch a taxi to the ruins. $70 to go to the ruins and $57 entrance fee for an afternoon in the sun looking at amazing ruins.
You can swim at this site as well, although they close the beach along with the ruins just after 4-30. If you still want to swim afterwards, leave by the exit and turn left following the directions to the public beach. This beach was just beautiful, by far the nicest of the trip across the whole if Mexico.
There are some great beach bars here with what can only be described as buckets of Mageritas, although watch the price, check before you buy! These were the most expensive drinks of our trip (although no more expensive than a cocktail at home).
Anyway, the hotel was great and would return, make sure you have a few basic words of Spanish as not a word of English is spoken here.

We were very happy to finish up or vacation here. The included breakfast is a fine addition to what already would be a good value. The hotel is near everything you'll want to do. To get to the ruins and beach, look for the buses, its cheaper. The hotel has a nice garden and hamacas. Sometimes the music on the street can be loud, but there are ear plugs provided for this, and also, you can always go join the party!

Staying at l'Hotelito was great, we had a car so we could easily drive to the beach during the day, return to our hotel in the afternoon and explore the town of Tulum at night. We had stayed for one night in a hotel that was directly on the beach (cabana style) and we thought it was overpriced for what we were getting so we traded that in for the amenities/price of l'hotelito. The owners were friendly, prepared a good breakfast with great coffee and made our stay enjoyable. P.S. the restaurants in town are MUCH better than the ones near the beach.

My wife and I have stayed at this litle hotel more than one time.,The hotel is very basic but for the price and for the location is perfect for a budget traveler, the owners are very helpfull and very nice people., the only thing is the noice from a club that recently open this past year, the noice is horrible, very bad..

Room Tip: rooms on the second floor are quieter and cheaper.

I stayed at this hotel in February 2013. Cozy hotel on the main street, close to the restaurants, shops, bank and bus station. Large and clean rooms, beds - white linens. The owners - the Italians are very nice and responsive people. For breakfast - fresh pastries, good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Yes, it's run by Italians, who have an espresso maker and good taste in bedspreads. Yes, it has big rooms and a lovely courtyard. Alas, all of this is outweighed by unreliable wifi and hot water, and by the location of an all-night Mexican nightclub next door. Literally, all night - from 11PM til dawn, our room was practically vibrating with bachata and disco siren noises. Avoid, if you like sleep, hot showers, or email.
