“Boho chic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

We visited for lunch after a trip to Tulum. You would drive straight past if you didn't know it was there. The lcoation is gorgeous, on Tulum beach, the decor looks as if it has come from the pages of an interior design magazine - very boho shabby chic (there was a fashion shoot going on while we were there so we were clearly not the only people who loved the setting!). Food was great especially the aqua pazza snapper. The fresh pasta with prawns and courgette was also very good. The main courses were expensive for Mexico but the price included an antipasti style platter to start. Had best glass of wine of the holiday here! Would thoroughly recommend but expect to pay for the ambience and all round experience.

Best fish I've ever had. We always visit on every trip, even when staying at an all inclusive. We love it!

“Nice spot--Overpriced food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014

I find very frustrating the trend of Tulum business owners that have outrageously high prices for everything ($30 plates, $15 drinks and $300 cabañas) and gouging customers to death. I think Casa Margherita does a fine job of contributing to this trend by serving the most overpriced slightly above average pasta dish and wine you will ever eat in this part of the world. Pasta dishes average $26-32 and the most inexpensive wine on the menu starts at $40. I can't tell if the owners are greedy or if everyone around me was a millionaire. I had an inexpensive bottle of wine, a salad and a single dish of fresh pasta with shrimp (frozen not fresh, mind you) and zucchini, with tip it cost me $100--I'm by no means cheap and don't mind splurging for something really good but I don't feel the quality of the product served here justifies the price. I can get some pretty spectacular food for that price range in NYC where rent and staff is probably way more expensive. My guess is that you pay for the spot more than anything else. If you're ok with that you'll be fine here. Don't come here if you're on a budget or expect to be blown away by high culinary talents.

“Fantastic Italian restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

T and I visited the posada on three occasions during our stay in Tulum. The quality and texture of the pasta here is perhaps the finest I've tasted ( and I've been to locatelli's). The shrimp and king prawn pasta was particularly good as was the white fish cooked in sea- water. All their wines were excellent too.

Highly recommended!

“Lobster Pasta”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

Funky NYC styled restaurant with retail space and accommodation attached. Expensive but quality.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The drinks were strong and tasty. The location was prime on beachside centre of the main strip.

Def recommend a long lunch here.
