“Authentic, Local Gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

These are the types of places I love to find when traveling - no frills, truly authentic local cuisine. I almost didn't want to write a review so I could keep this is a secret! Menu is in Spanish. I just asked the waiter to bring me their best steak and chorizo dish and all I can say is WOW! The portion was HUGE and was basically meat covered in cheese, I could only eat about 1/4 of it but I wish I had room for more. My husband ordered a similar dish but liked mine more. Their margaritas were also very tasty. Super cheap and great for groups. You could even order family style. Will be back next time we travel to Playa. The service was slow and if you do not speak spanish could be challenging but just be patient, its worth it!

“Very local atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Good food and local atmosphere. I know that local also means spanish. But some version of the menu could have been in english. No matter if we had had to order by pointing at the menu, mut it would have been easier to order if we had known better what to expect. AND we would have spent more money, if they had accepted creditcards!
Nevertheless, If you understand some spanish, and you carry cash, this place is a must to visit!

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

Our taxicab driver pointed this place out to us and we had a great time. Although the temperature outside was hot and the place is not air conditioned, it was a very good experience. I think the authentic Mexican food was better here than anywhere else I've eaten in Playa.

“Best Food in Playa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

Absolutely love this place! A little off the beaten track and a real 'local' joint, its not necessarily somewhere you would walk into without prior knowledge but being slightly adventurous pays off.

The 'Taco al Pastor' which uses the spit cooked Pork is absolutely out of this world and at $10 Pesos each are incredible value. The more expensive stuff like Fajitas and Nachos are well put together and extremely generous in size.

The service is super friendly and extremely forgiving of our terrible Spanish.

Recommended.
