We visited the El Fogón on 30th and 32nd street (I believe they have three locations, and from what i was told this was the original)
We just hopped in a cab, said "El Fogón por favor" the cab driver then asked "¿Qual?" and we said "Calle trienta y dos"
We had barely stopped before a friendly waiter greeted us and walked us over to a nice table with a view of the TV which had Lucha Libre on. We were the only tourists there. It was about 10pm and there were many people having nice meals.
If you find yourself without any english-speaking waiters just ask for some jugo or a cervesa and "tacos al pastor con queso". Be sure to get the totopos with guacamole as well.
They had very clean bathrooms, and the total bill for two came out to something like $15US. A real bargain! Do not miss your chance to have authentic Mexican food away from the madness of Avenida Quinta.
