“Flying Aerosaab - a great alternative to the long shuttle ride to Chichen Itza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2011

When we first looked into taking a tour of Chichen Itza from Cozumel, my wife and I reluctantly decided against going, because of the long shuttle ride - about 5 hrs, one-way. Contacting Aerosaab, we found we could fly from Cozumel to the airport near Chichen Itza in 45 min. Aerosaab did an excellent job managing the trip. They were on time for the pick-up at the Coz airport, arranged for the 10 min ride to Chichen Iza, provided an excellent english speaking guide, arranged for a great side trip to a local cenote (bring swim trunks) where we also had a very good meal. The $350 pp, included all the above, except the meals. We thought it was well worth it, since we returned refreshed around 3 pm to Cozumel, with time to do other things. We highly recommend Aerosaab..

“Perfect from start to finish! 5 stars!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2010

Took a one way flight to Cozumel from Playa del Carmen..it was excellent from start to finish.

We wokred with Antonio out of the Cancun office. His replies to our questions were answered promptly..often within an hour.

All staff that we met were beyond professional and determined that we have a wonderful experience and they did not disappoint at all!

Thank you to Antonio. Temo (pilot), Iban (I apologize if I've incorrectly spelled your names!) and all other staff involved in our flight. Temo even walked us through the airport to the exit door to ensure we were on the right path to continue our visit of Cozumel. Thank you Temo!

The views of the beaches and coming in to Cozumel were spectacular.

It was a fantastic experience that I hope to repeat again in the future.

Thanks so much!

“Excellent & Well Organised Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2010

As a family of four staying for just a week at the Iberostar in Cozumel, we wanted to get to see Chichen Itza but without being stuck on a bus all day (ultimately it does not cost significantly more than an organised tour from Cozumel for a family of four, although be wary or airport departure tax at $40/head). Aerosaab ticked the boxes and was the only outfit that I could research at all on the internet, albeit what whas found was limited. Safety and reliability was the principal concern.

The plane, a Cessna 210 arrived in Cozumel from Playa del Carmen about 45 minutes late. Jose, the pilot was very friendly, apologetic about the delay and good with the children (14 & 12) who took turns in the co-pilot's seat. The flight of about 45 minutes is scenic over Cozumel and the mainland coast but the remainder of the trip is over jungle or scrub. Note that it can be bumpy!!

Chichen Itza airport is virtually deserted, but a friendly taxi driver organised by Aerosaab was waiting for us on arrival. He whisked us off to the ruins (about 15-20 minutes from the airport) where we were greeted by our tour guide, again organised by Aerosaab. The guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed the ruins over about two hours, of which 30 minutes was made available to buy art work etc. from local vendors. Then it was back to the taxi and off to a Cenote for a quick half hour swim and something to eat/drink. The Cenote was impressive with clear blue water (and fish) and enjoyed by all, although we would have liked longer. After that it was a short taxi ride back to the airport where the plane was still waiting.

In summary an excellent and well organised tour but it really is a flying visit and we would have liked a bit more time, certainly at the Cenote.

“Aerosaab tour to Chichen Itza from Playa Del Carmen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2010

We stayed about 20 miles north of PDC and decided that this might be a great way to get to Chichen Itza without spending most of the day on a bus. It was ! For about $350 each for 2 people (we had another couple sign up too) We were flown by Fernando to the Chichen itza airport - this basically brand new very nice airport that is completely under-utilized - they are planning ahead ! - A pre-arranged taxi driver (very nice man) took us about 10 miles to Chichen itza where we met with pre-arranged tour guide ...most people take a long bus ride...pay an entrance fee....pay for a guide...etc.....This was perfect !. The guide gave us about a 2 hour super cool tour of the main attractions at the site..This is too cool ! Then the cab driver picked us up and took us to a nearby hotel that had a cenote that you could swim in if you wanted...

Downsides - seemed maybe a bit rushed - could have done without Cenote sidetrack...more shopping time in Chichen itza - lot of locals selling the wares there... If you've never ridden in a small single engine airplane - this will seen super cool or could give youy a real thrill - maybe scary ?? but our pilot was nothing short of excellent !

PDC airport location was somewhat difficult to find

“A Yucatan Day Trip to Avoid”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2007

On a recent trip to Cozumel my wife and I wanted to spend a day touring the ruins at Chichen Itza. To avoid dealing with the ferries and a long bus ride a flight seemed the perfect solution. We set a tour up through Aerosaab, based in Playa del Carmen, via the internet prior to leaving the US.

We would be taking the flight with another unknown couple, this couple later cancelled and despite having our hotel information as well as knowing exactly where we would be waiting for the flight, Aerosaab made no attempts to contact us, its a long distance call from Cozumel to playa del carmen so a simple phone call is anything but. We ended up wasting hours of our time, cab fare to and from the airport, a beautiful morning and ended up not being able to go to Chichen Itza at all.

The complete lack of professionalism and courtesy from the people of Aerosaab was distressing. Yet, I have think that if they are not professional in dealing with their clients do I really want to trust my life to them by flying in a small plane with them. I recommend not.
