“Royal Hacienda is the BEST!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

We had a fabulous experience!!! we stayed in a two bedroom suite and it had everything needed to stay confortable and energized so that we can do many of the nearby activities. Of highest recomendation is Explorer and Coba. Explorer is about 15mins away and it has among other things over the jungle canopy Zip-Lines and subterranious river caves with stelactite formations forming and hanging from the ceilings. Coba is an observation pyramid that looks over the entire jungle canoppy. But back to the resort, the resort is fabulouse and the staff is outstanding. The infinity pool is nice and big with the service bar and long happy hours. The other pools are also very nice. They have a welcome party with free beer and lunch. The next they they have a Taco party with more free beer and some fun games. Ocean views are ok in most of the resort but city code keeps the buildings at maximum 4 floors. Playa Del Carmen is just ten minutes away and they have shopping at fifth ave and local food. A very good restaurant out of te beaten path is El Fogonsito on Constituyente Ave. Right in front of the supermarket with the pelican symbol. The whole experience is just Fabulouse!

One caution note: put on your car seat belt as soon as you get in the car. The police is very young and have very good eye sight and they enforce this law very jelously! I was stopped by a young policeman, early 20-something, but luckly I was able to talk my way out of a ticket without a bribe.

Room Tip: choose the highest floor and facing directly to the ocean!

We have been staying at the Royal Haciendas since it opened 5-6 years ago. This resort is absolutely gorgeous! The beach is combed each morning. Snorkel from one side of the beach and kayak from the other side. The staff is magnificent. The landscaping is very well kept. The food is delicious. The buffet are reasonably priced. Plenty of reasonable priced happy hours. Free shuttle to Play Del Carmen's 5th Ave. for great food, entertainment and shopping.

Room Tip: All rooms come with their own unique view of the sea or the beautiful gardens in the court area

This resort exudes excellence in every respect! You are treated like royalty by every staff member and can't help but feel good about your stay. The landscaping is breathtaking and meticulously manicured. The food at the restaurants is delicious and reasonably priced. I learned to do scuba diving here a few years ago and this year took two awesome dives with the staff as they took us by boat over to Cozumel.

If you are considering this resort, DO IT! It's a no-brainer!

The week at Haciendas was great. From the moment the taxi door opens hotel personnel were with a smile and ready to assist with any request. Everything at the hotel is designed to ensure that the guests' every needs are taken care of. For those who do not speak Spanish, all employees have an excellent command of English. The pools are great, the restaurants are great, beach and beach access are great. Everyday organized activities are available. Even though the hotel is a time share there is no pressure to listen to the pitch unless you want to. The hotel is super for couples or families. Everything is expensive but that is to be expected.
It was a great experience and we would recommend it and would return if possible.

Room Tip: Our "Villa" was with a beach view and it was great.

The Royal Haciendas is our favorite condo in Playa Del Carmen. The grounds are beautifully kept, the condos are immaculate, and the staff is top notch. Everything about this place exudes quality. The Rivera Maya is a beautiful place with many activities. It is hard to leave the gorgeous white beach and beautiful pools at the Haciendas to go other places! We love the Haciendas.

Room Tip: All of the condos are beautifully decorated with granite countertops. All units have a jacuzzi on t...

We love the Royal Haciendas but we had money stolen from four different wallets in the lock off area.

My husband and I used our safe in the master bedroom but the four people (ages 22 through 50) didn't use their safe but will from now on!

You can't judge a resort by a few bad staff members. Royal Haciendas is a wonderful place!

The Beach was beautiful. The check in was very smooth. The rooms are kept in immaculate shape. The maid service is daily. The facilities available to the visitors are almost unlimited. We will keep coming back again & again. There are 2 pool bars with excellent restaurants attached. There are also 2 additional restaurants for dining. The Newer restaurant was one of the best restaurants we have visited this trip. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience this year.

Room Tip: Book earlier, it is in high demand.
