We just returned from a trip to the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, MX. It was absolutely fantastic! it was a very beautiful, clean resort. When we checked in we asked if a room upgrade was available. We had to wait a night, but we got closer to the beach with the new room. The first room was ok, but the location of the 2nd room was much better! The food selections were great! Always something different. We ate at the Japanese restaurant and the Kristal restaurant. I'm not such a fan of Japanese food, but those we were with loved it! The Kristal is fantastic! Everything there was great! The beach was within walking distance to Playa Del Carmen. There were a lot of people there but it didn't seem crowded at all. If you go, make sure you see Xavier from Olympus Tours in the lobby to take care of all your excursion and shuttle needs. He was great! Look for the guy in the bright orange shirt & navy blue pants. He helped us in so many ways! Make sure you tip the workers. They work so hard in presenting their resort! Everyone was so kind, it made me sad that we have to go to Mexico to get good service!
