“Beautiful condo, wish the pool was finished”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We (four ladies on our annual getaway) have stayed at the Grand Mayan before and the Grand Bliss rooms are very similar. Of course the Grand Bliss is upgraded and the patio was much larger. The dip pool on the patio is very nice, even if you just enjoy looking at it. I do wish the patios had beach views, instead they have views of the "jungle".

We had hoped the new swimming pool on the beach would have been complete. However, there was always a shuttle available to take us over to the Grand Mayan to enjoy their pools. One of the pools was closed for refurbishing (the sand pool). But the two larger pools were open and we enjoyed the swim up bars. I would also recommend participating in water aerobics, very fun.

We enjoy cooking so the kitchen was well used. Wish there was a full size freezer and wish there were an oven. But we still managed to cook delicious food. We shopped at the Walmart in Playa on our first day for our groceries. Don't bring home any ice cream as there is no place to store it in the mini fridges (there were two mini fridges in the kitchen).

Recommendations\ to the Grand Bliss-would enjoy having a DVD player in the room. Would like to have a walking trail to enjoy a healthy walk in the beautiful resort.

We enjoyed the dancers that performed one evening in Havana Moon and found the food to be good. We went into Playa and also enjoyed our meals at Genacolo (delicious Italian food, homemade pasta) and Alhambra (great view of the beach and great ceviche).

As always, the staff throughout the resort are amazing and very accommodating.

Just returned from a week at the Grand Bliss. We stayed in the 8 person room. It has a beautiful kitchen with 2 mini refrigerators which allowed us to store all our food fine, also a blender toaster and coffee pot. The showers were big and the rain shower heads were a favorite of everyone. The housekeepers are nice and do an amazing job everyday. We accidentally left the safe open one day and they alerted security and the room was locked down immediately.

The balcony was great with the plunge pool, kept my son busy for hours. The only problem was once the sun was on the balcony it got very hot there are no ceiling fans to move the air and there was no breeze on the jungle side of the building.

The shuttles from the grand bliss to any other part of the resort was amazing. The drivers Pablo, Carlos and Rudy were so kind and took the time to learn all of our names. At the shuttle pick up areas we just had to say grand bliss and they were called to come get us. It was a wonderful service since none of the amenities/pools are completed at the grand bliss so we had to leave everyday to go to the pool or restaurants.

We ate at the Gong, TRamonto and pool side. Wonderful waitstaff pool side, they again learned our names and also learned what some of our favorite drinks were. The gong and TRamonto were so good, the fresh sushi and Kobe beef were a must have. The room service staff was wonderful. They set up a beautiful table, made it feel 5 star.

The grounds and pool were kept spotless. There were always areas open around all the pools. The water aerobics was a great workout with fun instructors.

Golf course was great. Concierge made it very easy to book tee times before we arrived.

The concierge Noe was amazing, he let us know various things happening around the resort such as 113 baby sea turtles being released on the beach that evening. Another concierge ( i don't remember who :( )helped a guest of ours book an excursion in a very short time frame, even working from home to book the transfers!! Needless to say a truly wonderful staff.

My husband and I stayed from Septemer 7-14 and absolutely loved it... We are Grand Bliss owners who were staying here for the first time... We had a great view , front of the building , second floor, with good privacy. We had a week of mostly rainy but hot weather, my husband was still able to get in two rounds of golf, we ate at Frieda's, as well as Del Lago, made a few meals, with groceries from WalMart... Service outstanding... Welcomed "home" every evening by staff... Concierge Noe very helpful and shuttle drivers Carlos and Rudy were great !! Loved every minute, would we go back ? Absolutely!!

Our stay at the Grand Bliss was pure relaxation and joy. Our room was phenomenal the ambiance of the hotel was spectacular. Our room was truly top quality and luxurious. The bathroom has a large Jacuzzi tub, as well as a wonderful rain shower. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a great concierge service…..Wait we had that too!!! Bronsson and Noe to name a few of the people, who made our stay great, were outstanding! They made everything great, particularly Bronsson who set each of our days up. Every day we woke up Bronsson had a great day planned for us. From traveling the Country side to lounging at the many many pools located on the property. He even rented a car for us for the day and had it brought straight to the hotel lobby so that we did not even have to think about anything. I do not have one complaint about my stay at the Grand Bliss. When I read the reviews prior to arriving I was a little skeptical about the golf cart service from location to location but it worked perfectly. This is a large resort complex, but we never had to walk anywhere. As Grand Bliss guests, we had our own golf cart shuttle to take us around the resort. There were no lines waiting for a cart to the Grand Bliss and the Drivers were awesome! Carlos and Rudy were just the sweetest people you could meet. The drive from the Grand Bliss to the main areas took no longer than 3 minutes. You could walk around the grounds and been just at home, but it was a little too hot for me to walk. I loved the Golf Cart Service (if you have seen fantasy island then you understand how cute the golf carts are). At the pool area you have about 12 – 15 different pools to choose from and they all simply out did the others. We chose to stay at the main pool with its swim up Bars (Francisco was the perfect bartender we was funny and kept the great drinks coming!!!). I could go on for hours about this place so I will end it with, you will never have a bad experience here. The staff are outstanding the guest are nice and you truly want for nothing!!! The restaurants are great your pool side waiters are awesome and funny I could not ask for more. Okay maybe I have one tiny tiny complaint. The beach was awful for swimming. There is plenty of sand and gorgeous views to be seen but the shore is covered in rocks! Not the smooth kind that you simply brush your feet over but the jagged kind that make it imposable to walk on. No worries though we simply went to Playa del Carmen and visited one of their many beach clubs (your concierge will tell you all about it). Enjoy Your Trip!

Room Tip: There are rooms with personal balcony pools, I plan to opt for that my next time around.

We just returned from vacationing at The Grand Bliss in Riviera Maya and once again had a fantastic time. We are Grand Bliss owners and this is our second time staying here. Yes there is construction (they are completing the next 48 units and should be open in November 2013) and yes it is a fair distance to the Grand Mayan pools and yes we don't have a pool yet but you have to remember that this Grand Bliss just opened last November. Regarding the construction we don't have a problem with it. Both times we have stayed in the front of the building and it didn't bother us when out on the balcony using the plunge pool. Regarding the distance to the pools, etc. the shuttle service is so efficient you don't have to wait more than 2 minutes before they arrive. Like the previous reviewer mentioned there were times that there was a very long line for the Grand Mayan shuttles but all we had to say was "Grand Bliss" or show the bracelet and they would call the shuttle. Again never had to wait more than 2 minutes. As far as a Grand Bliss pool they now have huge displays of what our pool will look like on each floor and where it will be located on the beach and looks very nice. Not sure when that will be completed though.

Now the staff makesThe Grand Bliss. The three concierges (Aurea, Bronsson and Claudia) greet you each time by name and a friendly smile and are so helpful. The shuttle drivers, Renaldo, Pedro and Carlos are excellent. Always pleasant and eager to please. And we can't forget the staff at the pool areas. Superb service.

The rooms are beautiful. Decorated in shades of blue (my favourite colour) and everything is new. The room staff are also wonderful. Always pleasant and helpful.

If you do decide to go to The Grand Bliss you won't be disappointed. In fact we are returning next March 2014 for three weeks. We can't wait to be welcomed "back home" again.

I just returned from a seven day honeymoon at the Grand Bliss. I believe the previous reviewer was referring to the Bliss, not the Grand Bliss. The Grand Bliss just opened a couple of months ago, and is truly top quality and luxurious. My new husband and I stayed in a one bedroom suite. The finishes were very nice, a step above the Grand Mayan. The plunge pool on the large patio was wonderful. We made use of this daily. We also really enjoyed the comfortable furniture on the patio. The bathroom has a large jacuzzi tub, as well as a wonderful rain shower. Our only complaint was that the bed was a little hard for our liking, but that has been my experience whenever I have visited Mexico.
This is a large resort complex, but we never had to walk anywhere. As Grand Bliss guests, we had our own golf cart shuttle to take us around the resort. Other people would be in line for the Grand Mayan jungle shuttles and we just had to tell the staff "Grand Bliss" and our personal shuttle driver would be there in a couple of minutes! Check in was also a breeze. We were shuttled to the Grand Bliss and checked in there by the concierge.
They have not built the Grand Bliss pools yet, so we utilized the pools from the Grand Mayan. We never went in the Mayan Palace pools, they were too loud and busy for us, but they were very extensive. It is true that the beach area is not really swimable. We were aware of this before we went. We did learn of plans to build a new Grand Bliss beach area, so that should take care of this issue in the next couple of years. We enjoyed sitting down by the beach area, even without swimming. We also made a couple of other beach trips into Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Puerto Moralos so we got our swimming in.
The Grand Bliss is set back in the jungle area, and we truly enjoyed the lovely birds and wildlife. It was very quiet, we never heard any other guests the entire week we were there. It was so peaceful and just right for our honeymoon.
We ate at Frida's by the pool a couple of nights (it is called Balche during the day) and we probably enjoyed this food the best. We also ate at the Tramotoro wine bar, Greenbreak and Havana Moon. Drinks are expensive, but we found the food prices to be reasonable. We did purchase some food for our room and made brakfast ourselves most days.
We stayed for an entire week and were never hassled by anyone about time share presentations. The concierge for the Grand Bliss was very helpful, and we felt pampered in every way. This was an amazing honeymoon and I was so sad to leave the Grand Bliss! I recommend it to anyone looking for peace and quiet and pampering. We loved it and cannot wait to go back again.
