“Coba Mayan village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

If history is your thing then this is a must, comfy shoes are recommended along with insect spray. Although walking through is nice, experiencing the tut tuts is something you have to do. You are able to climb one of the temples, but be careful very un-level but the views from the top are breathtaking. The Mayans are very accommodating, and the children are great (very humbling to see)

“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

The pyramid was fantastic to climb go soon before you can't climb it anymore starting next year. The bike cabbies were very pleasant and helpful. A lot to learn and see I could not recommend this wonderful place enough. Beautiful butterflies. Take bug spray sunscreen and plenty of water.

“Soooo much better than Chichen Itza!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

This is a Mayan ruin visit as it was meant to be. As opposed to Chichen Itza (which was like "Disneyland" with souvenir shops and lots of "keep off" signs), this place is AMAZING. Rent a bike as you go in; the ruins are expansive. Visit them all, climb on them, walk all around them, and be sure you go to the big pyramid in the middle. You can still climb it, and it's an adventure. The steps are crumbly and unevenly spaced, but that makes it all the more real. There's a large rope up the center of the stairs if you need help, and the view from the top is AMAZING-bring a camera. If you see no other ruins, see this one!
