“A lot of shopping and restaurants”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

I liked that there was always a place to dip in and eat and/or shop. There were plenty of tequila places for you to get free shots as well. I hated the way the people stand around asking you to come into their store or restaurant... THIRSTY for your money.

“La Quinta Avenida Promenade”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

There are tons of great shops & restaurants!! It's very laid back and the beach is a block down either to your right or left depending on which direction you're walking!

Eat at Yo AMo Tacos... great food! The shops are pricey but a good place to walk around! The shop owners charge mostly in dollars...

“A Must Do in Playa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

All visitors to Playa del Carment need to experience the fun and craziness that is "La Quinta" (5th Avenue). Be forewarned that you will have to develop some polite, but firm repsonses for the myriad of shop owners, vendors and restaurants that will beckon to you to look at their wars or menus. Everything from "Hey Family!! My turn to rip you off!" to "Hey, I have exaclty what you are looking for..." & my favorite "Almost Free!!" Choose your restaurants carefully, some are cheap with good "deals" ($80 pesos for 3 tacos and 2 beers), but you get what you pay for in quality. I HIGHLY suggest making your way to the north side of La Quinta (north of calle 34) for better quality restaurants and shops. Just norht of calle 38 there are EXCELLENT restaurants -- Kool Fish, the Local, Como Como, El Pirata, Pacha Mama, Cueva del Chango & Piola to name a few.
