My wife and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary at Secrets Capri from June 26th to July 1st. We had a wonderful time. Before booking our vacation, I had read every posted Secrets review over the year prior to our planned stay. I found the reviews to be collectively accurate and of tremendous assistance. There are so many excellent detailed reviews for Secrets that rather than write another, I wanted to cast my own 5-star vote and offer my concurrence with all of the 5-star reviews that have been posted this summer. Instead, I will offer the following additional comments.

At check-in, we were put in a room on the north wing directly over the construction next door. I knew this because I had read prior reviews. Although I was asked to take a look at the room anyway and did so, I nonetheless asked to be moved to the south wing and away from the construction. Management happily complied with my request.

The in-room refrigerator cannot possibly keep the beverages cold. This is because it is housed behind a closed door within the TV armoir. We tried keeping the armoir door open but the maids always closed the door. I actually felt sorry for that little refrigerator locked within a Dutch oven.

Take commercial CDs, burn your own CDs, or assuming that you have the appropriate external cords, you can plug your MP3 player into the in-room DVD outlet jacks. Instant Van Halen, AC-DC, Tom Petty, George Strait, Toby Keith etc.---you can tell it was a 20th Anniversary.

I've never sailed before. After a 5 minute sailing lesson, I sailed solo on the free sailboat provided by the facility. My wife and I had a blast. Admittedly, my wife had a worried look on her face before I successfully completed the first turnaround. Bottom line, if I can sail, a monkey can sail. Don't miss taking advantage of this perk.

Order a beer "chileta" style. In sum, a chileta is a Modelo beer, in a salted glass, poured over lime juice and ice, with a wedge of lime. Very refreshing. A variation is the "michileta" which is the same thing but with added bloody mary mix. I did not care for the michileta as much.

I know we all pay good money to fly to Mexico and stay at these resorts. Like most people, I also don't like to throw money away. Nonetheless, I would strongly recommend that you take $50-$100 in singles with you. It made my wife and I feel good to tip the hard-working staffers at Secrets. These people will work very hard to make your stay enjoyable. While I believe that you would get the same A+ service whether you tipped or not, you will feel better and enjoy your trip more when you're able to recognize hard work and excellent service.

Finally, I have concluded that most of the negative posts had one of either two things in common. In some cases, the poster failed to recognize before their trip that Secrets Capri is aimed at Honeymooners, those celebrating an Anniversary or lovers. If you are expecting a fraternity mixer or a spring break atmosphere, you will be disappointed. Other negative posters simply have unreasonable expectations concerning drinks, food, dinner shows, etc. Maybe I'm easy to please but I found Secrets to be a dream vacation come true...I hope you do as well.

Secrets Capri is a fabulous place. As far as I am concerned, no one could possibly be unhappy there. All five restuarants were terrific. The staff was attentive and pleasant. It was even better than other visitors said it was! No words can ever describe how amazing Secrets Capri is. If I could afford it, I'd go back tomorrow.

I wish I were on the beach right now! Boy, was it depressing to come home!

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun. This resort is absolutely fantastic.

I read many of the reviews on here before booking our trip and you were right on target. The service at this hotel is absolutely terrific, the resturants are excellent, I think our favorite was the Italian place named Portofino.

When we met our driver at the airport, we were greeted with bottled water before taking the cab ride to the hotel. Upon arriving to Secrets, we were given warm moist towels and champagne, what a nice touch!
We had the honeymoon eternity package due to booking a junior ocean front room. The room was great with a king size bed, and
a gorgeous view of the beach. The first day, we had a bottle of chilled champagne and a basket of fruit all ready for us in our room.

We spent alot of time at the pool which was normally crowded so if you want a raft or a chair, get there early. Our favorite was the swim up bar, the bartenders and staff were always available, friendly and a great laugh.

One of my favorite memories was returning to our room one night to find rose petals scattered all over our bed, a towel shaped into a heart.. a romantic sade cd ready to be played in the CD player and a line of lit candles on the floor. It was beautiful and really set the mood.

I also spent my 30th birthday at the resort which was our 2nd day there, ofcourse my super clever hubby booked a trip to Delphinus to go swimming with Dolphins as a bday gift. what an experience! We had dinner that night with some friends we had made and the Chef made a special birthday desert for me. Back at the room the next day, we had a suprise of streamers balloons all over the bed with some german chocolate cake.

We had an amazing honeymoon here and the fact that it's an adult only resort really makes this place special. I would say 75% of the guests were on their honeymoon. The beach is absolutely beautiful, the white soft sand and the prettiest blue-green ocean I have ever seen, also take advantage of the free catamarans and kayaks they have.

I definitely recommend this place to honeymooners and couples looking to relax and enjoy the little pleasures in life.

My husband and I are just back from our Honeymoon in “Secrets Capri”. We had an amazing 2 weeks. Secrets Capri is beautiful, perfect, amazing!
The resort is right on a beautiful beautiful beach, and the views are picturesque.
The hotel is 5 star, the service is amazing, they could not do enough for you.
There are 5 restaurants and the food in each is gorgeous, so yum! We loved them all. The two right on the beach (seafood and grill ones), have great views, so romantic. The Asian and Italian inside have great food. And there is a buffet restaurant, which also holds the breakfast and a lunch – and again has great views. The pool side restaurant is great for lunch also and great views of the beach.
The food is great and you can get food all day and night - 24 hour room service. You can also get food right to your sun-bed all day, and again it is great quality.
The pool area is the best I have ever seen. Great sunloungers - plenty of them and sun umbrellas and floats for the pool. There is also a great swim-up bar, which is such fun and handy for when you too lazy to get out of the pool to get a cocktail!
And it is an adult-only resort which is a nice break!
There are also so many activities on all day – from kayaking to volleyball, to cocktail lessons, to bungy trampolining, to waterpolo and Spanish lessons (in the pool!). You can be as active or lazy as you want.
At night they also have plenty of entertainment - bands, shows, casino etc etc. I could not recommend this hotel any higher. It is perfect! I would recommend it to anyone. Have no doubts this place is paradise.

We also went to the Dolphin Discovery – to do the Sea Life Plus Discovery Tour- which includes swimming with dolphins, and manatess and meeting a sea lion. It is a great trip to do, and only ½ hour form the hotel. Swimming with the dolphins was a dream come true!
