After spending a week in a cheaper hotel to keep the budget down, we stumbled upon this gem one night after spying it across from one of our favourite places to eat. It was a little more expensive than our previous accommodation but it was quickly apparent that the extra expensive was directly linked to better value for money.
The hotel is tucked away in a lovely green sanctuary that is lit magically by night and adds a very peaceful element to the day. You could spend hours sitting on the verandah letting the day slip by or head up to the roof terrace and enjoy sun baking all day or cool off in the pool.
The rooms are spacious and clean with extra blankets for the rare chilly night. It was a pleasure to see the new towel art creations that the great housekeeping staff leave on your bed. So far we have had a rabbit, a turkey and a fish. It is the small touches such as this that make this place great. Large bottles of fresh water are located on every floor for your convenience.
This hotel is located so close to the main strip of Playa Del Carmen that you can see the street from the pool.
The only drawback we found was at times it can be a little noisy during the day with furniture being moved and the local dogs barking but this happens rarely and is over and done with fairly quickly.
We would stay here again in a heart beat!

Casa de Gopala is the best home away from home, this makes year 19. Same hotel same room. Love love love Larry and the staff, central to everything. 3 blocks from the bus, 2 blocks from the best beach of the area and any restaurant is so worth it. Especially off of e 5th.

We stayed here and dived with Yukatek divers adjacent to the hotel. So easy and fun! The hotel is hidden and quiet right in the middle of town. I loved the pool on the roof top and a view to die for. We could see Cozumel, the beach and the town of Playa del Carmen. The staff is terrific. Very helpful. Erasmo you were super! And Carlos very nice. I fell in love with the decor and the jungle like plants. Can't wait to return, I miss this place already!

conveniently located near attractions, shopping, local restaurants, and beach Good food all around. Hot top on top floor, with seating area for having a brew or snacks. Towels and linen changed everyday. Showers are large with good water pressure. Breakfast was included in our package choice of eggs , hot cakes, fruit plate and good coffee
