“Wonderful Indian food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

We went to Curry Omm because of the other trip advisor reviews (and we walk by it all the time...). We were not disappointed. We had the butter chicken and the lamb vindaloo which were both excellent. We had samosas for an appetizer which were also very tasty and the chai tea was delicious. Definitely a repeat stop for us!

“excellent Indian food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

Curry Omm is a small (10 tables as I recall, mostly outdoors) restaurant at the quiet end of 10th Ave S., a couple of blocks south of Juarez. The owners Harish and Claudia are most charming and welcoming, and more than willing to answer your questions and make dinner suggestions. When we arrived for our 7:15 reservation we were the first patrons, but by the time we left there was only one unoccupied table, so reservations are suggested (phone: 984 873 1516, curryomm@mail.com, ).

The meal begins with a complimentary order of mini papadums served with a mildly spicy dipping sauce. For an appetizer we shared an order of chicken tikka served with a cilantro and yoghurt chutney, which was delicious. For the entrees we had the Rogan Gosh (lamb curry) and mixed vegetable curry, both of which come with a rice pilaf. We also had an order of naan bread (not the best I have ever had). The vegetable curry was excellent and while the lamb was perfectly cooked, it was too spicy for my liking. Their mango lassies, with a hint of fresh coconut, were wonderful. They also serve wine and beer. Their menu with prices can be seen at: http://www.letseat.at/Curryomm/menu.
Listening to the music from a Bollywood movie playing in the background adds to the authenticity of the experience. Even if you are not sick of Mexican food, I would highly recommend this restaurant. CC not accepted. They also sell a limited number of spices (including garam masala) so that you can make your own curries at home.

“Great find !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

After a week of traveling in Yucatan Peninsula, my gf and I were looking for some variety in our meal. After reading the reviews, we drove down to this small Indian place and it didn't disappoint.

The lentils were well done, the nan bread was tasty. The chai was quite refreshing.

Harish and his wife were gracious hosts. The place is well done and gives you the sense of being at a home in India; relaxed and elegant. The Bollywood songs added to the flavor of the place.

“Possibly the best chai of my life”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012 via mobile

A great little gem of a place away from la Quinta and the over expensive-not so great food of playa.
I was hesitant as in the uk Indian food is everywhere and often not great. But my friend had never tried the cuisine (she's Mexican) and so we tried it.
The menu seemed standard but the dishes that came out where so good. Explosions of spices and tastes. The host was lovely, accommodating and chatted to us a lot. He explained many of the dishes and recommended the chai....which was amazing. And then desert.....coconut cigar rolls. We couldn't stop eating yet were so full.
I've thought about it since and I don't think I've had such good authentic healthy Indian food in the uk unless it was home cooked. Awesome place to try if you can't handle anymore tacos.
