This was our first experience at an all inclusive so we had little to compare it to. First off, the previous reviews about being bumped are true. Fortunately we were not in that group but met many others who had been sent to less than desired properties for a couple of days. The new sister property next door is not complete but some people were put up there without any restaurant/bar facilities or working elevators. This means that they came to our side which made everything more crowded. Our room (Jr Suite) was very nice but the property design is not well thought out with a step down in the room from the foyer to the bedroom. There is also a step down into the shower for 12 (big). Little closet space. Food was fine but a buffet is a buffet and sometimes not very hot. The two sitdown restaurants were fine but they at first would only make a reservation for that day or the next. We were fine with that but midway throught the week they changed the rules so you could make multiple reservations for your entire stay. We were only able to eat at each once. We did go into Playa almost nightly and did have a couple of dinners there (on our own peso). Location of Gran Porto is wonderful with 5th Ave just a couple of blocks away with all of its shopping, bars, and restaurants. We (4 of us in 2 rooms) would consider going back but only once the other property is finished. The Gran Porto is also still under construction with the Sports Bar off Constitution nearing completion. Nightly entertainment was poor. Bottom line...the place was clean; service pretty good; the beach and proxsimaty (sp) to town super; but a lot of grumbling guests.
