I was really excited to try this place out after reading the reviews. In fact, I was worried that when I got there, I wouldn't be seated! However, there was ample room. I opted to sit outside by the pool, where it was a little cooler.
Let me start by saying that deciding what to eat was extremely difficult. The menu features so many delicious items that it's a little overwhelming. For drinks, I followed an earlier poster's advice and went with a couple of very potent tequila sunrises. They had awesome garnishes, which gave presentation points. For dinner, I went with scallops served in a banana leaf (wish I could remember the serving style). With it, I had parmesan rice and Mexican street corn. They also brought out a deliciously spicy hot sauce that I emptied all over the corn and rice. Awesome! The scallops were divine (small and extremely plentiful). I ate plenty but didn't feel disgusting (or remorseful) afterward.
For me, the best part of the dinner was after I had eaten and Gabby asked me if I wanted another drink. I decided to take matters into my own hands and go talk to Jorge, the bartender, inside. I asked him to make a recommendation for me, and since I just happened to be drinking tequila, he proposed a concoction that was made of a hefty pour of tequila, coconut milk, and mint/lime/sugar. It was like a milky mojito. Sounds crazy, but it was delicious! Even better, when Gabby brought me the bill, she told me it was on the house (maybe they felt bad for me being by myself)! Either way, I thanked them and left a generous tip.
What a great dining experience. I'd like to eat here many more times, but alas, Cozumel calls. Don't miss this place!
