“Great Food and Great People, Too Easy! Just Go!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2011

My wife and I stayed at Aventura Mexicana September 7 to 21 and elected to purchase the VIP all inclusive plan. We were expecting to eat out at least 50% of the time, however the food was so good that we spent most nights at the Mayan Bistro.
The food on the menu was a good selection of Fish, Pasta and Meat. Loved the Carbonara and Arabiata Pasta's, as well as many of the fish dishes we tried.. One night I ordered a Filet which is not included in the VIP plan, the price was reasonable and the Filet was large and extremely juicy. Chef Marco invited me to try the Lamb one evening and all I can say is WOW, it was encrusted in goat cheese and spinach and was nothing short of incredible. Chef Marco made us a special Last Night Dinner including Shrimp and Scallops in a mild curry, a crab bisque and Squid stuffed with Salmon and Asparaus, it was the best meal I have had in years. The breakfast menu is extensive and offers everything from american style eggs, pancakes, fruits, yogarts omlets as well as some Chef Marco Egg Creations that are out of this world.
The staff..... Of course Chef Marco, the best bartender in Playa Aldo and for breakfast and lunch Service Dora and Andrea serve up delicious drinks and food. My wife and I have elected to return to the Aventura Mexicana in May 2012 and purchase the VIP plan, The People at the Mayan Bistro made this decision Too Easy.

“Great Food and Great Service”

We ate in the Mayan Bistro every day as we had the VIP plan. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all were great. Chef Marco's crepes were to die for. The staff were all fabulous!

“Best Restaurant in Playa, Hands-Down!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2011

This is my second year in a year to Playa and Chef Marco and his tremendous staff are fabulous. The menu is very extensive and the food is prepared to order which means hmmmmmm! There are dishes from the native land of Mexico to the isles of Europe. Chef Marco from Italy is creative and will prepare anything you desire whether the food is from land or sea. You must try the carbonara with spaghetti and the Sea and Mountain Kabob which is to die for. The breakfast and lunch menus are extensive and everyone's palette will be satisfied. The atmosphere is calm during the day as the bistro overlooks the lush green foilage of the grounds and at night it is quite romantic. The wait staff which consists of Dora, Julio, Myrna, and Aldo are absolutely fabulous and will do anything to please. Aldo is also one of the best bartenders in Playa bar none, no pun intended. He can mix libations from all over the globe and the drinks are incredible. The service is excellent, the food is excellent, the value is excellent, and more important the people who work at the Bistro are wonderful. The Mayan Bistro is the only place to dine while in Playa!

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2011

Excellent food at reasonable prices! Chef Marco will create something special for you if you wish. There were 7 of us and he came out and created dishes off the menu for most of us. Absolutely wonderful experience. We ate here several times during our stay.
