Me and a friend (both 45ish yr old ladies) went last wk. We were in Playa Del Carmen for a whole week and had "Buy 1 day, get a 2nd Day Free" tickets. Didn't return for the free day BUT not because it was a 'bad experience'; simply because it just wasn't great enough to spend another day there. Parking was free and we parked right at the entrance since most people take tour buses to the park. It was not crowded, had a relaxing atmosphere and covers a LARGE area. I love snorkeling but the VERY small area they had for snorkeling was so cloudy with fuel/fumes/lotion, etc that I felt like I was in a dirty fish tank. Boats only a few feet away, people COVERED from head to toe with thick, white sunblock clouding up the water. Underground river was quite chilly (not surprising) and seemed mostly man-made (very surprising and disappointing). The park is very beautiful and it was a nice experience overall. Butterfly area was better than the small zoo which only had raccoons, a couple of cats and white tail deer (the monkeys were out to lunch). The turtle area, grouped from small to large was nice. Right inside to the right as you enter the park, there's a series of tunnels that we went through and enjoyed where you answer questions along the way to lead you through. Somewhat educational. Cemetery was spooky & weird. Biggest complaint was wandering around all day trying to find things, locker areas, bathrooms, etc. There are LOTS of signposts with arrows pointing at a fork in the path or at multiple forks. How about putting a sign AT the fork?! And there are LOTS of forks in the path with NO signs at all and you can't see beyond the next several feet due to the jungle vegetation and twists and turns in the paths. This guessing game was fun and adventurous when we first arrived but the frustration grew throughout the day; trying to find the beach; trying to make our way to the river; trying to find bathrooms throughout the day; locating lockers; trying to find the exit to leave! I think that this is a GREAT place for families with children and teens (not TOO young though due to rocky pathways, small cliffs, dark tunnels, etc.). Not so much for adults looking for a more natural, less 'staged' adventure.

We apologize for haven´t reached your expectations during your visit to our park.
We understand you annoyance about the signpost and we would like to share with you that, as we like to constantly improve in order to offer more value to our visitors, since the last year we are working on a new signing project to make the park friendlier, it is almost done and if you visit Xcaret this year you´ll discover the new features.
Hope to give us a second chance to show you all our improvements on the service.
Thank you so much for share your comments with us.
