Just had a quick jaunt down to mexico from Texas and thought it was fabulous. To address a few of the previous reviews - The hotel is beautiful in an understated minimalist boutique way , so if your looking for gigantic overstuffed rooms and bathrooms with excess everywhere then this isnt the place for you. Probably not the best choice for families with young kids but then not many 'boutique' hotels are. Yes the hotel can be noisy at night - and the reason ? because it is in a prime location slap bang in the middle of ALL the life and energy on the main street, and a stones throw from the beach front ,so of COURSE it is going to be noisier than some of the hotels on the outskirts, especially since this is a much smaller hotel. You hear Mariachi, you hear people in the restaurants around, you hear laughing and singing, people dancing, drinking, enjoying themselves, walking from the beach. But isnt that why we go to Mexico? Of course it all dies down at the end of the night anyway, and honestly sitting on the beautiful balcony of this hotel room, looking at the ocean view, and watching and listening to the world go by below was truly an amazing highlight of this trip. Top that off with the staff being super friendly, and accomodating (and curiously all like supermodels as a sidenote?) , mixed with the complimentary breakfast at the stunning Indigo Beach, it all boiled down to a great trip that I would, and will, repeat again soon.

Very easy stay at this hotel. Only a small number of rooms so we were really taken care of. All the staff very nice and bi-lingual. The hotel is new and modern, only downside is the smallish bathrooms. Excellent location, even had a awesome bar at the top with views of the main drag and the ocean. Will return for sure.

I believe this is a new hotel so I am forgiving the massive leaks that they had to deal with while we were there. You see, there were torrential rain showers for a solid 3 days/nights. If they hotel staff weren't aware of leaks beforehand, they are now and will hopefully seal them off before the next downpour.
The staff were top notch. Friendly and helpful. We were given drinks on the house while we waited for them to ready our room, we were given towels to dry off with after getting caught in the rain, and when we bought wine, they had the bartender run to our room to open it. This is an $80 a night hotel people! The service rocked.
The negatives were this...the bathroom smell was ungodly. Like the sewer to the entire city had opened up and released all of it's into our nasal passages. And our room's window did not open. There was no escaping the smell. (There are rooms with balconies available...I would recommend getting one of those). *This might have been a result of the rains/flooding and so forth...
And lastly, the bed. Such a beautiful room to be ruined by a cheap uncomfortable bed. It's the type of mattress where you run you hand across it and you can feel the metal support rods.

Well it all started with a great introduction from the reception desk which at the time was Rachelle. She is fabulous, easy on the eyes, very helpful, and patient since she put up with 3 over excited american men acting as boys. The rooms and hotel in general are nicely decorated, very cool feelling to them. Nice rooms with all the ammenaties needed, very clean and comfortable. The showers are a little bit small if you are lucky enough to have a visitor to wash your back or whatever, Yes! Just deal with it. Other reviews about the noise of people walking up the stairs to the bar and the street noise are probably the same people that sleep with a blindfold and earplugs. It wasn't that bad going to sleep to the slight sound of high heels outside your door, it made for great dreams. The restaurant upstairs had great food, drinks, and the staff was so pleasant and welcoming even to the gringos that couldn't speak Spanish. The location could not have been better, in the heart of the scene and one block from putting your feet in the sand. I owe a big thank you to the rest of the staff at the hotel for making contributing to such a good vacation, this includes Paula and Diana. I love you too. Great Hotel!! Rock

Great location, just a block away from the beach and on the 5ta avenida. The staff is very friendly, and charming. It gets a little bit noisy at night due to the bar, but nothing unbearable, especially if you want to enjoy Playa´s night life. Would definitely go back again. Great place to recommend!!

Punto has a very nice feel to it when you enter the lobby and rooms. However, do NOT stay in Room 21! There is a strong sewer smell in this room, that they try to hide with a room air freshner in the bathroom. Fortunately, they switched us to a new room that did not have a sewer smell. Also, do not stay at this hotel if you plan on going to bed early, there is lots of noise from the bar above...such as the noise from chairs constantly being moved across the wood floor. The rooms had a nice modern look to them, the lighting in the rooms was cool... Under bed, behind tv, and pendent lights. The bed had some nice sheets and pillows, however it is a bit on the hard side.

Returned from our trip one week ago and really liked this hotel! Was a bit nervous, as there were not any traveller photos to look at, but what you see on the hotel website is actually what you get in this case. Really can't beat the location; on the corner of 5th and 8th, right in the middle of all the action, and barely one block from the beach.
Our room was more than adequete, and had a huge window overlooking 5th Avenue. The bed was really quite nice; my husband says it was more comfortable than our own bed at home! Alot of thought has obviously been put into furnishing this hotel-kind of a relaxed/modern look, very nice. The lounge on the roof was nice, with a little tile pool to dip your feet in and comfortable lounges. Nice to relax with a drink and either look out toward the water or down at the people on 5th.
Have to admit, I was very concerned about the possibility of a noisy, party-like atmosphere, but the only noise we ever heard were the sounds of some high-heels on the stairs going to the lounge on the roof a few times-and who can control that?? Didn't really bother us, and I'm a pretty light sleeper. The bathroom is very small, but very nice-vessel sinks, waterfall showerhead, etc. The shower itself is almost the size of the rest of the bathroom, so no worries there. The shower floor is actually teak slats spaced 1/4 inch apart, so the literally goes down the drain- thought that was a nice touch.
The front desk has beach towels available, and they hold your room key while you're out as well, so no worries about losing your key.
Really can't say enough about the staff-very friendly and helpful. Only wish we could have stayed longer-will definitely return to this hotel!
