“Friendly, Happy and Yummy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Lots of options based on low fat (spit roasted or grilled) proteins, served with excellent Charro Beans, Guacamole, Rice. Try the Pork with Baby Cactus. Some of the waiters carry your beverage order on their heads (multiple Margaritas!), fun for a photo. Desserts are unusual and excellent.

“You wanna go!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I went for dinner on TripAdvisors recommendation and are glad we did. When we arrived, at about 7:30 the outside patio tables were taken but the maitre'd assured us if we went in for a drink, a table on the patio would be available in 10 minutes. So, we ordered drinks and pork nachos. True to his word, the maitre'd was back for us soon. The pork nachos we're outstanding! Almost a meal in themselves, highly recommended! We also shared a chicken and cheese burrito which was fine, but did not live up to the nachos. The restaurant is quite small, but hugely popular. Drinks are served with a flair, many on top of the waiter's head, sometimes 3 high! Prices are reasonable and the complimentary coffee licquer topped off the meal nicely.

“Good and authentic!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

We make sure to dine at Carboncitos each year on vacation. While saddened that they changed the chorizo that they use; the flour tortillas, pumpkin seed dipping sauce, service and atmosphere remain great!

“Happy hour and amazing mexican”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Family of 6 with no small children, we had to stay in Playa one night before we got our condo outside of town. My boyfriend and I had been here last year and LOVED it. The food is excellent and the service leaves nothing to be desired. They are extremely attentive and speak great english.
I highly recommend going during happy hour. Margarita's are two for one (DANGER!) and you can get 6 beers in a bucket for $4. We shared two of the salsa platters which will really open your eyes as to what you can do with things like pumpkin seeds and what real pico de gayo should taste like. Can't go wrong with teh fajita's or the mole.
People watching is great as are the mariatchi's (SP?) who are always looking to play for you.
