I travel with friends and family to Playa each winter in February or March. We have stayed at: The Royal, El Faro, El Taj Oceanfront and this year we rented at Luna Encantada.
I booked through Tonya, owner of Playa Beach Condos & Villas. Tonya was fabulous to work with and answered all questions in a very timely manner. Her prices were the best for booking this particular unit. Will definitely work with her again!
We stayed in D3 - which is a 2 bedroom penthouse. This unit is a true beachfront property - on the 3rd floor. It has it's own rooftop deck. There are winding stairs along the side of the building up to the top. The view is beautiful and the space is quite large.
There is a balcony that runs the length of the condo. Every afternoon we would take a break from the sun and enjoy the balcony. It has table and chairs, lounger and a bench.
There are 2 full bedrooms. The master has a king size bed and the 2nd bedroom has 2 queens. Beds were very comfortable and firm. It also includes: Kitchen with breakfast bar, Full dining set, good size living room with awesome ocean views, 2 full bathrooms. Is there some wear and tear? Sure - the building isn't brand new. Even brand new facilities can show wear/tear in a very short period of time.
The building offer a small pool and beach chairs/umbrellas on the beach. You do have to head down early - as people go down early to "reserve" their chairs. They have someone dedicated just to the patrons of Luna Encantada, His name is Adean (I am not sure how he spells it). He will get you a chair, an umbrella and will get drinks/food for you from Fusion (the bar/restaurant next door) He is such a sweet person - tip him well!
The location cannot be beat. You are a block or so from 5th Avenue. Easy access to all the restaurants, shopping and bars you could imagine. Lots of the bars have live bands. The dirty martini was a favorite for awesome drinks. There are the nightly fire shows, if you happen to be at the condo - you have a great view from the balcony (they were doing them at Fusion)
If you are interested in going to Cozumel - the ferry dock is only a block or 2 away.
We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.
The view from this unit is stunning. You are 3 floors above the beach!
