“Outstanding value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago

At the hotel now for a second stay, and first stayed when it was a Doubletree. I'm sorry it's no longer part of Hilton, but it is still great as a Wyndham. Technically it's a four star hotel, but I'm giving it five stars because it's an outstanding value… and I travel 100+ nights per year. The staff are all very warm and professional, the food for all meals is delicious, and the rooms are spotless, thoughtfully designed and decorated, and comfortable by international standards. The courtyard is a great spot for evening beverages. The air conditioning is excellent, and the rooms are silent. There is no odor of mildew, which is pervasive in this region, even in nice places. I've also stayed at the Intercontinental down the street, which is very nice as well, but I definitely give the Wyndham the edge for value and because it is more modern. Will definitely be back.

This 100-room hotel is located only 5 blocks from Paseo Montejo on a corner lot that once was an elegant colonial home. The facade is the only remaining part of the original home. But behind is a well designed modern hotel with dining-room, comfortable lounge bar and a swimming-pool in a landscaped interior courtyard. The rooms were comfortable, very clean, and roomy, if rather stark, and surprisingly quiet, considering that is is on a busy city street. The floor-to-ceiling windows have black-out curtains. The bathroom has all the amenities one would expect of the Wyndham group. The staff were very courteous and helpful.

For us, the outstanding feature of the hotel is its food. The menus in the modern, 75 to 90 seat dining-room are fairly extensive and the meals are reasonably priced for a hotel. The quality of the food is another issue. For $180 pesos I had the most tender, flavorful 300 gram steak I've eaten in the 11 plus years we have lived in this wonderful area of Mexico. My husband said his Cob salad was very good. The only issue I had was that my single glass of red wine came from the fridge. We would return to this hotel, if only for the food.

Note that there is limited self-parking on site, but plenty of on-street parking close by.

Room Tip: Top floor has too much A/C noise.

Do you want a hotel where you can rest and catch up on your computer work? The Wyndham Hotel (aka White Town) in Merida is your hotel. No kids running around, no mariachi music, no boom boom music into the night, just calm, peaceful cool rooms looking over the pool patio with shrubs and palms. Catchy tunes from the 40s and 50s in the dining room, where I had the tenderest tastiest Arracheria steak I’ve ever put in my mouth. Get room 123 for a lovely view, short trip to the front desk and restaurant. Buses go by the hotel to take you to the downtown cathedral square. But if you need to just stay put and get some work done while being free from the every day tasks of life, enjoy the Wyndham Hotel in Merida, Yucatan.

Room Tip: We like ground floor rooms.

As a travel agent, I stayed at the White Town hotel as part of a familiarization trip. It was a very pleasant experience. The hotel was well-kept and the rooms were very comfortable. Initially I was given a room with a shower only, but I was easily able to switch to a room with a bathtub.

There were not many channels to choose from on the television and only one American/English station was available during my two day's stay. The bellman, Ermilio knew excellent English and he was extremely helpful and friendly during my visit. He well earned his tips I gave him for his services.

During my site inspection, I saw they had a very nice formal executive conference room as well as meeting space available for parties, conferences and wedding receptions.

The staff was very friendly and they made my stay very pleasant. If I visited the area again I would possibly stay there on a future visit.

We loved our stay at this property. It is small but nicely decorated with TV, A/C, functioning Wifi, small pool, bar and restaurant. The parking lot is located up front. It is blocks away from Paseo Montejo and minutes away from Downtown (due to extreme heat that you can experience, my recommendation is to walk at nights). The service is excellent from all the staff. However, the food is very well prepared and very nice. We felt like home during our week here. Hope we can come back!

My wife, toddler baby and I decide to lodge at White Town Hotel for a 4 day trip to Merida this March and we find that this place is a keeper.
Location is minutes away from down town, paseo montejo, mayan museum, restaurants and stores.
The room was in the small side but clean (really clean) had cable TV, internet access, AC and a security box.
They have a little pool (not heated) a small bar, and a restaurant.
We find out that all the staff at this establishment are really polite and go out their way to help you.
So... if you are looking for clean, quiet and central location this is a really great option, without breaking the bank.

I stayed at this hotel the last weekend in Feburay. The room wasgreat and the bed was very comfortable. This is better than the Hyatt in Merida. it is a cozy hotel to relax away from the tourist and hotel area but close enough to go anywhere. The restaurant was good and the staff was great from the front desk staff to housekeeping. The only cons was that they did not have ice machines in the floor or small refrigerator in the room. You have to call the front desk to have ice delivered to your room. I am planning to stay again in April at this hotel.
