“Another great dinner!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014 via mobile

Be sure to dine here. Was our second choice as we had wanted to try the Soggy peso but they ran out of food, which happens more than they should. Lucky for us Greenverde had a great menu to choose from and all of us were very happy that our second choice rocked!

“Superb Mexican Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014 via mobile

If travelling to IM, be sure to have dinner @ Green Verde. It is a small restaurant, but is very busy which is a testament to the great food. 4 of us just ate there, with 3 having the green Mole, and 1 having the yellow Mole. All meals were excellent. Oscar and his staff are very busy, and closed on Monday & Tuesday, so plan your visit accordingly. Several people had recommended this restaurant to us, and I understand why. Check it out.

“Unique and Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

Authentic, original, unique and innovative sum up GreenVerde restaurant on Isla Mujeres. It is a smallish, uniquely beautiful, hole-in-the-wall place, with a friendly chef who is also a furniture maker, coconut mask creator, and recycled materials artist. His name is Oscar; he speaks perfect English, and he has created a place to eat like none other on the island. First, it is clean, affordable, eclectic chic, and quaintly comfortable. Oscar has made or found everything you see around you, creating a “living art gallery” effect that invites conversation and exploration. Second, the food is high quality, artist-infused Mexican. It is not tourist Mexican, not plain brown Mexican; this is the real deal Mexican --filled with flavors, colors, and surprises. Red mole with a hint of chocolate? Check. Green mole with lovely pork and pumpkin seeds? Check. Home-made tortilla chips (green, of course from spinach and/or zucchini) and salsa? Check. Oh, and craving a home-made croissant or baguette?? Check…but check with Oscar to see when he is baking. GreenVerde is as authentic Mexico as a sunrise at Point Sur. If you like the Mango Café, you will like GreenVerde as well. Say hello to Oscar’s wife, Paola…another treasure of GreenVerde.

“Surprisingly great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014 via mobile

This local restaurant was recommended by a ex pat living near Villa Vera. It was within walking distance which was nice. Small, but roomy. Both indoor and outdoor dining available. Food was fantastic. Amazing yellow, green and dark mole. Had trio of enchiladas. My wife had pork stuffed poblano chile. Went with friends who had enchiladas also. For the quality of the food and service the price was another pleasant surprise. Should be on your list of must go restaurants while on Isla Mujeres
