We stayed here for two nights in January. We were in a very small room on the second floor. The rooms were clean, the employees were nice, the service in the restaurant was quick, and the price was right!

Really good value for money - close to the beach and in town - easy to get around - rooms were clean and spacious with private bath - looking to go back again next year!

I spent five nights in Isla, and stayed at Meson de Bucaneros the whole time. I was in a small room on the top floor (3rd), which meant taking the stairs, but I'm pretty fit so that was fine. (Saw some travelers who might have, errr, struggled with that.)

The place is owned by a nice family. Before I went, my sister in law (consada), thinking it was like Cancun, warned me about "pervy hotel managers". When I got back, I informed her, "I only WISH the owner was interested in me!" (He's adorable and kind.)

It was quiet for sleeping, had a TV with cable, fresh water in a bottle in the hallway, and a decent bathroom. The shower needs an update and/or a really good clean, and the bedding is a tad scratchy, but otherwise I can't complain. Paid $40 a night.

By the way, the continental breakfast is not very filling.

My daughter & I stayed here for 4 nights in January 06, after travelling around the Yacatan for 3 weeks. We found the rooms very clean & everthing working eg aircon. TV.
The hotel is very central to everthing - beach & shops.
You cant go wrong in staying at this hotel also the restaurant is very good, especialy the pizzas
