Came upon this hotel by chance. Staying at a difference place, but was referred there for dinner. We were met by a concierge who showed us around the property plus a room . It was fantastic like one of the better hotels in Las Vegas, our home. We proceeded down towards the beach where the restaurant was located. It was all open with a great view towards Cancun and decorated beautifully. The food and service were great. On our whole trip in Yucatan, I found no place with a better Staff. On our next trip to Isla, we will definitely be staying here.

Room Tip: Didn't stay over night, but shown a room. All facing the ocean with a great view of Cancun. I...

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

We stayed right next door to Casa de los Suenos and ended up spending the majority of our time there rather than our own resort. We went for lunch one day and ended up staying there til dark! The owner was an American lady that invited us to stay and swim in the restaurant side pool and even gave us a tour of the presidential suite and her own suite. She was awesome! All the girls got massages poolside for $1 per minute and it was the best massage ever! As far as the food goes, the gaucamole was fabulous, and everytime we went I got the steak tacos because they were so good I couldn't stand to try anything else! The bar by the pool also has great drinks! Loved it so much, we spent the whole next day there and the owner invited our group to her private party one night! I can't wait to go back and this time actually stay there! It was a beautiful setting with a fabulous view, especially from the infinity pool!

“Not Sure”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

This place has a beautiful setting. The bar and dining terrace are under cover and the property slopes down to the water where there are more tables. There is also a dining place way out on a pier for a dinner for two. I wondered how hot the food was when the server finally got there. Having said all that I'm not sure what to think of the place. Granted, it was a Sunday evening so perhaps especially quiet. But it seemed rather glum.

It's a bit pricey and I don't think the quality of the meal (shrimp) quite justified the cost. But the portion was big. Actually, too big. I would have rather had less food better prepared. My husband thought his appetizer of a chicken dish was good but he also loves haggis, so what does he know. His appetizer was big enough he did not want an entre. That left me scrambling to order mine, so the dinner became a bit disjointed.

Mostly the staff is welcoming and helpful so it was disappointing when our server wasn't quite as good. I guess when 18% gratuity is mandatorily added onto the bill you don't need to say thank you in any language.

Would we go back? Well, happy hour is 4-7 when beers are about $2 and the appetizers are half price. Do that sitting down by the water and you could have a nice evening. The view is certainly worth that. If you could eat the view I'd have given it a five.

While this isn’t a particularly bad review, we did feel we that we were taking heat for some strange things - among them that our Pier Dinner food that might have arrived cold… “ I wondered how hot the food was when the server finally got there”….except that she never tried it and still decided to share her negative opinion with the world. Turns out Pier Dinners are one of our most popular specialty offerings. Unfairness aside, the most important thing we wanted to share was our comment on the tipping policy. Our goal is to provide excellent service to each of our guests. We expect that from every member of our staff and do apologize if this guest felt that her service was less than excellent. This reviewer is correct that it had been our policy to add an 18% gratuity to all bills, to ensure that our staff was being rewarded for their excellence, but this policy was discontinued in late March 2013 because of a Mexican government mandate. Honestly, we hated to discontinue that policy because we value our excellent wait staff and, as Americans, we’re used to tipping in the 15 to 20% range. Our guests here, however, are from all parts of the world and many of them think it’s either OK to tip nothing even for excellent service or that, because it’s Mexico, tipping 2-5% is “plenty”. We continue to struggle with this.

“Wonderful food and view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

Casa de los Suenos is a gem on the island. It is away from the "downtown" area but that is what we liked about it. The outdoor restaurant is right on the ocean with an amazing peer to walk out on and watch the sunset. The happy hour deals on food and drinks are some of the best on the island and the food was great. The portions were big and flavorful. We liked it so much we ate here twice during our stay! Also, there is live music almost any night...a nice touch.

“Wonderful food and view combined at a great price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

Went here because it was the closest place to where we snorkeled. Arrived at happy hour and our total bill for two was 23.04usd! This was for two huge appetizers and two margaritas apiece! I had the fish tacos which were fantastic and my husband had the chile reillno which he loved. The pico de gallo was some of the best we ever had. The seating was under a tiki hut with a view of the ocean. In addition there was live entertainment. Go here and you will be glad you did!
