This was our second visit to Las Palmas and it was even better! Here's why you should stay there.....Great location, friendly owners who provide a wealth of information and advice, reasonable rates that include many extras. The extras are purified water, beach towels, a fully equipped kitchen, free coffee, basic supplies in kitchen, sunscreen, snorkel gear and more.
The hotel rooms are small and open onto the inner courtyard, so if you want private luxury and quiet, this is not the hotel for you. It's perfect if you enjoy interaction and friendly chats with other travelers, lively decor and open air communal spaces. The library, the inner courtyard, the rooftop kitchen, lounge area, dipping pool and shade deck are wonderful spaces to hang out. The rooms are air conditioned and painted with great murals.
We traveled with three teenagers, and found Las Palmas to be entirely safe and welcoming. Kate and Safari are very helpful and Dania is a delight!

We have many comfy communal areas, including a rooftop with a plunge pool. You'll find lounge chairs, hammocks, and tables with chairs to welcome you after a day at the beach - possibly an afternoon siesta. Our communal kitchen is also on the terrace and fully equipped. Our shaded deck on our second level, overlooking the street and is a great spot for people watching or reading a good book.We are located in the heart of the downtown. The beautiful turquoise of the Caribbean and powdery sand beach at Playa Norte are a block away (5 min walk). Just around the corner is Hidalgo Avenue, filled with cuisine from all over the world, live music, and friendly locals and tourists alike. We're directly across from the municipal market with four "loncheria" eating stalls, housing tasty, economical breakfast-lunch meals, as well as fresh squeezed juices. We have a hotel dog, Cachito (hypoallergenic, rasta-hair poodle) who is always ready for a stroll. ... more less
