Owner description: Isla Mujeres Museum Capitan Dulche. This Museum is dedicated in loving memory of Captain Ernesto Dulche Escalante, founder or the 5th Naval Region (Isla Mujeres). Captain Dulche´s Maritime Museum treasures a big part of Isla Mujeres history, this is documented in a great photo collection of over 150 that have never been seen before. The Museum also contains an excellent collection of anchors, buoys, chains and lanterns, maritime tools and two projection rooms, showing one video of the famous mexican diver Ramon Bravo and the even more famous Jacques Cousteau. It also has the largest collection of model ships and metates in the whole mexican caribbean.

“The museum is okay, the site is fantastic!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

The area around this little museum was the nicest restaurant/lounge/bar I went to on the island. They have put a lot of money in to the property and it has a beautiful view, beach and new chairs/tables/bar. I would have stayed all day if I could. Defiantly a stop to make. Best guacamole I had as well :)

“a neat place to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

This is really a cool place. Only thing missing is a nice beach. One of the nicest and cleanest bars you will visit while on Isla.

“Stopped by for a few hours on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

We were wanting some chairs and umbrellas to enjoy the water. Stopped in and tried it out. Service was good. We just had some drinks and some nachos to tide us over as we had a big breakfast. Water bottom was a little rocky, but not much can be done about that. The reason for not getting 5 stats was that the prices were kind of high compared to other stops on our trip. Not a deterrent though.

“Nice Setting But....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2014

We stopped here for an afternoon drink as part of our golf cart tour of Isla. The setting is very pleasant and peaceful but the quality of service and drinks leave a lot to be desired. Drinks are overpriced and lack creativity. While many include exotic combinations of ingredients they are served in a plain tumbler without any attractive presentation that one would expect for the prices they charge. I had to go to the bar to ask for a slice of lime to dress up an otherwise plain unappealing light green cocktail. In addition, our server was less than welcoming with no positive greeting or smile. With a little attention to detail and a pleasant demeanor this location could be so much more.
