“The best place in isla!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012 via mobile

This little heaven in the middle of the main restaurants street is the best place to get krep (with nutle and bananas) or sandwich for lunch. I love their food and the staff. I already miss this place!!

“Nutella & Strawberry Crepes!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

I've never had Nutella before, but after having an amazing Nutella & Strawberry crepe from Cafe Hidalgo, I'm hooked! The crepe is on the large size and heavenly, but be prepared for the rich sweetness of it. I also ordered the coffee which is served with a small pot of hot water on the side. I guess it's basically an espresso and you add as much hot water as you want to dilute to your taste.
If you are there for breakfast, I recommend that you sit outside so you can watch the stores open and the street come to life.
Cafe Hidalgo is on Hidalgo Street just south of Abasolo.

“Yum -best crepes ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

While staying on Isla Mujeres I had a major craving for some crepes. There are a bunch of creperies on the island, but something drew me to Cafe Hidalgo after a long snorkeling trip earlier in the morning. I am so glad that I found this spot. There are so many crepes to choose from, including savory and sweet, as well as a variety of other sandwiches and sweet breads.

The lady that owns this cafe takes total pride in her work. Not only are the crepes delicious, but they are artfully plated. We enjoyed the nutella and coconut crepe, sweet milk crepe, crepes suzette and the ham and cheese crepe. The iced tea is also the best I have ever had in my life. It has a touch of lime and just the right amount of sweetness. It also tasted as if it were fresh brewed and not from a mix.

If you are staying on Isla Mujeres, this is a place not to miss! It is reasonably priced and the food is out of this world.

“Fresh fruit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

Ate here upon another traveler's recommendation. Excellent fresh fruit with yogurt and granola. Could eat here daily. They do have other foods, but I was just there for breakfast. Food is made to order, not pre-prepared. Yummy!
