“Beautiful location, overpriced below average food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014 via mobile

We stopped here for lunch on a recommendation from our hotel. The view was absolutely stunning....until the boose cruisers from the Cancun hotels started showing up non-stop at that pier. Each boat dumped off 20-50 people, half of which started lighting up cigarettes upwind after getting off the dock. The service was quick, food came fast and had a great presentation. I ordered the mango shrimp and my wife ordered breaded shrimp. The rice, vegetables, and shrimp had an odd flavor that I couldn't put my finger on...something they must use to cook everything with...it wasn't a pleasant flavor. We really weren't impressed at all. When we got the bill for 680 Pesos I was even less impressed. 2 dinners, 2 waters, and chips and salsa/guacamole.....what a rip off. The only reason it gets any stars is location/views and good service. WAY overpriced compared to any other comparable restaurant on the Island...and flavor had a lot to be desired.

“Ceviche, Tic n Chix, and the beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2014

This is always a must stop for us when we are visiting Isla for two reasons: they have the best mixed ceviche (full of seafood and a meal in itself!) and the best Tic N Chix! We shared an order of the fish and two of us only ate a quarter of it!! It was AMAZING, fresh and delicious! (P.S. We took the leftovers down to the stray kitties at the end of Hidalgo. They also loved it. :))

They have a nice sandy beach that you can enjoy your lunch on and afterwards hop in the water for a cool down.

We always enjoy this place and plan to go back everytime we visit Isla!

“Great Grilled Fish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

The food here is real unique in that they have a special grill they use to cook the fish like no other on the island. The fish is huge .. plenty for two people. The tables are right on a beautiful beach overlooking the bay to Cancun. As a special treat you can swim with a nurse shark for $2. It is located on the pier right in front of the restaurant. Have Fun on this great island.. we sure did!

“A great dinner in a romantic spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

We (two couples) ate dinner here on 24 February. One pair split the signature Tikinxik Fish - which is a 1/2 of a fish seasoned and grilled over a charcoal fire. It comes with Salad and seasoned rice. It was wonderful! Another diner had shrimp and vegetables. The seating area is under a large palapa on the beach looking out over the water. The staff was helpful and friendly. The food was great, the portions huge and the prices were reasonable.
We arrived at 6:30, and were seated. We ordered (the Tikinxik Fish takes at least 20 minutes to prepare - as it’s all done from scratch). As we were eating, we realized that we were the only people there - when we asked, we were told that (like many restaurants on the island) the restaurant closes at 6:30 PM. I mention this because the staff never mentioned that or rushed us in any way - it was only when we asked that they told us. Very professional!

“We will definitely be back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

We arrived a little before sunset to enjoy dinner watching the sun go down. We sat on the deck overlooking the beach and water. They had a lot of interesting menu choices. We decided to share the tikinxic. It was our first time and we absolutely loved it! We couldn't eat it all.

We loved the atmosphere and would love to come back during the day for lunch with our toes in the sand.

Our waiter was very attentive. There weren't a lot of other people when we were there. We were actually a bit surprised. But with so many places to watch the sunset in the Playa Norte area perhaps this place is usually pretty quiet in the evenings.

Last word, the bathroom was spotless :-)
