“Beautiful property!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Just returned from 6 days in Isla Mujeres. This was our first time on the island. We usually look for an apartment or house to rent because we like a kitchen and don't like to feel like we have people right next to us. El Milagro is a beautiful property and all the rooms are spaced apart so you feel like you have a lot of privacy. We stayed in the Blue Cabana and loved it. Unfortunately it rained for most of our trip but we were thankful that we had a place to hang out with a large covered area that included a movie room, ping pong, books and a community kitchen. The staff was amazing and the owner, Eric, is great!!

I came down to Isla Mujeres with dive excursion. This place is great. We got picked up for dives at their dock and when we came back the communal kitchen worked great. Felix (spelling of name?) would clean fish, lobster and conch that we caught. Each room/villa are slightly different from the others. Comfortable beds. This is Not an all inclusive type hotel, but it is a very comfortable, relaxing and inviting place. The few staff they had were very friendly and would talk with you, if you wanted, but gave you space to lay in a hammock and swing, drink beer and de-stress of life. I would pick this as my place to come stay next time on the Isla.

Room Tip: As to which room, my suggestion is to know amount of people, how many beds and how private everyone...

i lost my phone in Cozumel and couldn't remember the place I initially wanted to stay at Isla mujeres, so I took a cab and asked to be dropped off at El milagro since for some reason the name stuck to me while I was browsing for places to stay in Mujeres while I was at Cozumel. I was shown the blue hut ( i dont know what they call the room) which was closest to the beach and loved the rustic Mexican design. I'm not a big fan of modern, cookie cutter hotels, so I'm liking this place even more after Eric (the owner ) gave me a tour of the whole place. The place is clean, safe, comfortable with a touch of Mexican whimsy. The bikes, paddle boards and kayaks are free to use. They have ping-pong, movie room, tons of board games and a mini library to keep you busy. Or you could just master the art of doing nothing--- just drinking beer, watching the boats go by, hanging out by the swings/ hammocks. You can cook your meals if you want since the rooms come with fridge and stove , but I refuse to do so and have swam and walked towards the nearby restaurants (soggy pesos, BahiaTortuga) which are close by. I could go on and on about the place, but the thing that makes El Milagro special are the people. Since I was traveling solo, it was pleasant experience to feel being part of the Milagro family. We had breakfast, sometimes pre dinner snacks together with the staff and other guests at the communal kitchen. But if you crave for solo time-- there are tons of places at the hotel to relax and veg out too. Eric and all the staff of El milagro, thank you. I had a wonderful time.

My husband our 15yr old son and I decided at the last minute to take a trip to Isla Mujeres.
After a google search for places to stay we found "el Milagro"
What a find !!!!!!
Bi- lingual friendly staff
Clean and resonable

We enjoyed the place and staff so much we decided to extend our stay.
The owner is from California and very nice to be around
He has bikes that you can use to go to town or explore.
Eric--the owner , asked us if we wanted to bike with him one morning to see punta sur
My husband who at the time had a bad cold wanted to just follow in golf cart. So Eric took our son along with another guest and off we went. Wow Amazing.
We went at 630am to avoid seeing tourists and cars on the road.
We also found the local spots to eat .
Thank you so much Eric.
Please come visit us in Cozumel
Take care
Anet -Pedro and Alijandro

Room Tip: Since we had our son with us we stayed ingarden villa 1 two bedroom Quite and perfect

We have now stayed at the Marina twice. Once in Februrary and once in June. The rooms are great simple and functional. The staff is the best and will make your stay perfect. We took our kids with us in June and they loved it. A 15 year old and 19. Plenty to keep them busy.A very short walk to Centro and even shorter walk to great food. We have found our new place to stay on the island. Eric is a great host and a pleasure to be around.

This is a fun marina and beach resort. We had the bungalow which is nice and private for 2 people. The pool was nice, there were paddle board available, games to play, and books to read. The owner Eric was visiting at the time and we got to meet him, he is a cool guy. Everyone who works here is friendly and eager to help.

We had a great time relaxing on the grounds. We would usually rent a golf cart and cart around the island for fun. El Milagro is about 10-15 min walk to downtown and we would usually take a cab to Playa Norte, which has beautiful white sand and aquamarine Caribbean water.

Everyone who stayed here seemed really chill, no drama, and had some stories to tell. If you wanna make some friends, all you need is a bottle of good tequila to share :) Afterall that's what Mexico is all about right? Chiilin', drinkin' and having a good time - and El Milagro is the place to do it :)

Tip: Make sure to bring a good mosquito spray.

Room Tip: Eric will advise on a good room choice.

We stayed in Villa 3 for four nights, and we had an enjoyable time here.

Located a short walk (10-15 min) from the "downtown" area with restaurants, Playa Norte etc, it is a good place to stay.

Our room (villa 3) was located nearer the road than the sea, and didn't have a terrace or anything. I would recommend getting one with that, and closer to the sea if possible. If not, it is still OK. The room is large, the bed comfortable, and the little kitchen is useful.

The little store is convenient too, because there is not much else nearby (before downtown). They sell beer, water, chips etc.

The only thing I wish they could do something with was the beach area. El Milagro have a little beach, and it is quite nice, but I did not want to swim there. Clean it up, and maintain it, and it would have been perfect.

Also, we did not meet this owner, Eric, and really found the service to be a bit confusing. I mean, there was always someone around to ask, but it was not really clear if they worked there and what they did.

Room Tip: Try to get the ones with the view, not villa 1, 2 or 3.

I would like to comment on the Beach being clean it is raked spotless every morning at 5am unless there is a storm. In the water there is some natural Turtle/sea grass that is native that we are not allowed to disturb. There is a latter at the end of the dock that is great for using to go swimming if you do not like the sea grass.
*
The staff at El Milagro work as a team effort and any member will always help with any request. That could be why it was not clear who is in charge, we all work together to make a guests trip as enjoyable as possible I will try to clarify this in the future.
*
There are many different rooms and location choices at El Milagro and they are priced according to their location size and amenities.
Thank you
Eric
