Overall our experience was great. It was absolutely beautiful! We didn't see any kids at the Aura, nor did we see any bugs (unless there was a piece of food on the ground, then there were ants all by it), but you see that everywhere. The room was excellent. It was big and the bed was very, very comfortable. The view from the room was outstanding. We stayed in 1432 and had our own private pool on the roof, which was also beautiful!
The resort: Absolutely beautiful. Very well maintained. There was always someone outside cleaning up the grounds (landscape, beach, swimming pools, etc..).
The room: was huge and the bed was very, very comfortable! We stayed in 1432 and it had a GREAT view of the resort, but also of the ocean. The bathroom was also great. It had a jetted bath tub which was nice! And a pretty big walk in shower.
The restaurants: We ate at almost all of the restaurants at the Wyndham. Our favorite for dinner was at our Resort the Isola. Our fav. for lunch time was the Mosaic (located at Sabor), and for breakfast our fav. was the buffet style restaurant at the Wyndham family resort area ( i think it was called La Isola??).
The service/staff: Room service took a good 45 mins to receive. By then things weren't very "hot" , but weren't "cold" either. Only one time did they forget to bring syrup for the french toast that was ordered. Other than that it was great. Our room was cleaned daily, and a few days they came in to "turn the bed down", but that only happened twice i think. I'm not sure why they did it some nights and not others. Either way we could care less if the bed was turned down! The minibar wasn't restocked the first 2 days we were there, but after that we didn't have any problems with it. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They all also spoke pretty good english, with exception maybe the house cleaning people, but they all greeted us when we saw them.
We never made it to the Brissa bar which is the roof top bar when they were open so i'm not sure how that is. Nor did we work out in the gym, but we did go see both of them and they both looked great!
Our trip included swimming with the dolphins, 2 hour ATV tour, rented a jeep 1 day, Tulum and Xel-Ha. All of which i recommend. Tulum and Xel-Ha we didn't have much time at, but we did get to walk around for a bit and experience it, and we thought they were both great. Swimming with the dolphins we did at Chakanaab park and that was awesome! We did the middle program can't remember what they called it, but we had a blast with the dolphins. I'm glad we rented the jeep b/c the other side of Cozumel the ocean was just beautiful!!
But, if you plan to go to Cozumel for a sandy beach you will be disappointed. It is pretty rocky, but just bring some water shoes! We had no problems swimming in the ocean at our resort.
I do think that the resort does need to either do a tour or put some informational pamplets in the rooms, b/c we had no idea where anything was. We had to inquire about where to book excursions and where the Brissa bar was , etc..
