“A home at the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014

I stayed two nights at the Casa Viento in March, and had two of the best nights of sleep of my life. The bed was comfortable, the room was cool, and I felt very much at home. Raul, the owner, met us when we arrived and gave us recommendations for activities and eating. He upgraded our room at no charge as they were not full the two nights we were staying. He lent us snorkeling gear and even gave us a ride to the wedding we were attending. The security guards were also very kind and helpful. The location was close to the beach and good snorkeling. In the future I would probably take Raul's advice and rent a car though, as taxis back and forth to town add up.

Just got back from my 4th visit to the island of Cozumel and 3rd visit to Casa Viento. I can't say enough about our stay at Casa Viento it is a wonderful experience, it's like moving your home to Cozumel for vacation. Nicole and Raul treat you like family. The king size bed was awesome made it easy to sleep in and enjoy a lazy morning and the showers are great no worries about hot water. I'm a kite boarder and Raul has always been generous with his time and loves getting in the water with you for a session. He runs the most professional kiteboarding school on the island. He will have you up on the water in no time. He has introduced standup paddle boarding to his list of activities so if the winds not blowing you can enjoy time on the water just cruzing along the shoreline or make it a work out and paddle to the point. When it comes to dinning they will direct you in the right direction. Raul is native to the island so he knows where the good eats are from taco stands to fine dinning. So if your looking for a great vacation with no drama Casa Viento is the place. Cheers, Eric. Ps. I'll be back.

Casa Viento is a charming, owner occupied hotel, one half-block from an ocean beach. We had a two-bedroom, two-bath unit with a well-equiped kitchen, living room and patio over-looking a mid-size pool. The grounds and unit were immaculate and beautiful and the perfect place for my husband and I to relax and enjoy the beautiful place that is Cozumel. The owners are friendly, helpful, and non-intrusive. By the time we left, we felt as if we were old friends. Their dog, Diva, adds to the sense of belonging. We loved it and plan to return.

We spent two weeks at the Casa Viento, we picked the hotel because of Raul and the Kiteboarding potential but we also wanted a good place to stay and this hotel met all of our expectations. The reviews are right on, clean, friendly and very secure. Pluses: airconditioning that works in the bedrooms, good wi-fi, plenty of fresh water from the water cooler, hair dryer, daily maid service, great source of local info for dining and playing, I could go on but you get the point. Having a car is important and we had a great experience with the Hertz rental at the airport. Booked in advance and got a good rate.

Room Tip: Hard to beat the two bedroom apartment fronting the pool.

Wow! What a pleasure it was to stay at Casa Viento. It way exceeded my expectations, and they were fairly high. Nicole hasn't missed a detail in outfitting the units - air conditioning (especially nice for me after I walked the 5K from town), incredibly comfortable bedding, top notch kitchen appliances, cozy towels (including beach towels), great water pressure, and on and on. Raul and Nicole are wonderful hosts, available if you need them, but not imposing. Diva (the dog) and Tiki (the parrot) are great. Like Nicole and Raul, they're there if you want the company, but aren't imposing. They made this animal lover feel even more at home.

Casa Viento is in a small, quiet group of homes near the end of the road. It makes for a relaxing contrast from the busy town. And a two-minute walk gets you to an effectively private beach. I'll be going back next year, booking time to learn how to kite surf from Raul, a former Olympic windsurfer that brought kite surfing to the island (i.e., the MAN).

Thanks again, Raul and Nicole!!!

Room Tip: There are rooms with and without a kitchen. It's a short drive to town, but I enjoyed being able...

This is a property for people who don't want to be in crowds and who don't need the "comforts" of an all-inclusive resort. Raul and Nicole make you feel like you're part of their family and will bend over backwards to make sure you've got everything you need. They know everyone on the island - including the best places for fish tacos! We love this place and can't wait to go back. It's hands-down the best vacation spot in the world.
