We really liked this place, although we're not sure if we'll return to Cozumel given how we like to vacation.

The king bed was quite comfortable, but even better was the ocean view. Our room was kept very clean.

The location may be great for some, not so for others. It's on a busy street, but you can easily walk everywhere. Get out of town during the day to avoid the noise and crowds.

If you aren't a diver, I think it may be difficult for many to enjoy a vacation in Cozumel. We snorkeled a lot, but most of the beaches aren't nice, sandy, expansive beaches like you find around Playa del Carmen or Cancun. There a couple nice beaches on the east side of the island, but driving there can be rough on the old roads.

I don't advise renting a scooter unless you are only driving it in town--the roads are TOO rough. We lost the muffler on our scooter and had to spend over $200 to replace it. Yeah, it's pretty much our fault, but it's something we didn't know about before we took off on our little adventure, so I'd like to warn other travelers as well. It is definitely worth it to rent a Jeep or other 4WD vehicle.

There are some great little restaurants all around the island and especially in town--the ones that don't look as nice (don't cater to tourists, but the locals) are actually the best!

If you want to stay in town, Vista del Mar is a very nice, modern hotel for the price.

My husband and I stayed at the Vista Del Mar Boutique Hotel from the 3rd through the 9th of Feb and loved every minute of it! The room was immense and super clean! Our room looked out over the back market with a large balcony. We awoke to church bells and the distant crows of roosters. It was fantastic! The hotel is located right in the middle of the town and next to all of the shopping and numerous resturants. Cozumel people are soo friendly and nice! Say hello! We are definitely going to return to this hotel next time we come to Cozumel. The staff are wonderful! Say hi to Martin! They truly want you to enjoy your stay and it shows. If you like a simple, extremely clean, and friendly hotel in the downtown area I would highly recommend this place!!! We loved it!

We just returned from a wonderful week in Cozumel at the Hotel Vista Del Mar. We were there for Carnaval and the location could not have been better. We had a balcony room on the 3 floor, which was great for watching the parades or just people watching. The hotel is within walking distance to many many restaurants and as much shopping as you can handle. The hotel is very basic but extremely clean and well maintained. There is nothing fancy about it, but the location makes up for anything you may miss. If you don't want some noise, this is not the place for you. However, if you like to people watch and want to be in the center of everything, this is the place. We are planning on returning next year.

We liked the hotel, the room was very nice and clean. It was nice to get our breakfast in bed. It is an ocean view hotel, but there's the main street right in front of it...so it's kind of noisy.
The hotel was great, but the island wasn't what we expected it to be.
