“Money Bar, Cozumel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

I went here one day because someone said the snorkeling was great. The water here is very clear and shallow for quite a ways out. There are lots of colorful fish and some reef if you go out a little. The day I was there, the current was rather strong near the shore, but not overpowering. I did not see any, but was told you can find an octopus or two and starfish here. The thing about snorkeling is you can go to the same spot every day and see something different every time. I did not eat here, but had a couple of drinks which were reasonably priced for a beach club.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

We learned about the Money Bar because that is where we hooked up with Tiger for a snorkeling trip. Be sure to check Tiger out. We went back another day to have lunch and snorkel from the shore. Nice place to hang out. We sat at a table with an umbrella down on the sand, service was a little spotty but food good.

If you are going to snorkel be careful with the entry. There are steps with a bannister, hang on if the water isn't totally calm. Rocks near the top of the steps are slippery, when we were there a woman fell down on them right onto her head. There is another entry at the end of the dock with a ladder into the water which may be a safer option.

You can hang out here as long as you want, great way to spend a few hours.

“Glad we stayed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

We were suppose to meet someone here for a snorkling trip but they didn't show up. We had booked with another group but had a 2 hour gap in between to fill. Rather than spend another $20 on a taxi we decided to have lunch and do some snorkling. The beach is warm, calm and shallow. There are quite a few fish and lots of urchins. Lunch was fantastic. In the end, we were glad things turned out the way they did. The beach there is public so anyone is welcome to go. It is beautiful and its handy to have a restaurant with bathrooms on sight. Great place to spend the afternoon.

“Good to know about”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2014

We visited the Money Bar while looking for places to snorkel around Cozumel. Didn't want to pay for a real snorkeling trip, just wanted to get into the water and check it out. Money Bar turned out to be the best place to go. Went fairly early and got a table, went snorkeling a bit, then came back to the table for a late breakfast, reasonable and delicious. Friends joined us and we all sat there for hours, it seems, and were not hasseled at all or made to feel hurried. Later in the day after touring around the island, came back there for more snorkeling and sat away from the restaurant. They have a shower and changing rooms and lockers, so it is very helpful. The food that we had was delicious, chilaquiles, I think, and the price was right. Very friendly and excellent service. Looking forward to going back and I highly recommend it to others.

“One of the better places on Cozumel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2014

Cozumel doesn't have many great eats unfortunately. I've had better Mexican food in San Diego! But what's great about this place is, it's next to the water and there great snorkeling there! In fact, I've seen more fish here than those other places. Afterwards you can grab lunch after rinsing off at the outdoor shower. We got combination fajitas, chicken quesadilla, fries, and some margaritas. Service was friendly, and accommodating. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the view.
Great way to spend an afternoon!
