Wow! Amazing.. My husband and I stayed for a week at the Melia to celebrate our honeymoon/1 year anniversary! We recieved a free upgrade to a junior suite because it was our honeymoon! We were on the eighth floor overlooking the water. The view was spectacular. Our food at the melia was very good! No complaints here. The beach was beautiful, however the seagrass rumors were true....so we trotted down to the other beach and it was beautiful. It was not a big deal.Between the service, the food ,the room and the scenery,we'll say our only complaint to be seagrass (which wasn't a big deal!) We had lots of fun. We didn't go on any excursions because another couple we met went on every excursion and came back dissapointed from every one! We kept waiting for them to come back with some good news...they never did-we told them they saved us alot of money. Honestly there was enough entertainment, feasting, drinking and relaxing that the only place my husband and I went was to town one morning early for souveniers and a horse ride.(Horse ride was nice along the beach, but in the woods it was very dirty, alot of garbage. Would I do that again, yes because it was relaxing and nice to ride a horse since I never do that) We had plenty to do at our resort! The people were very friendly and helpful. We tipped our maids 2 dollars everyday and they took very good care of us-with towels & filling our fridge for us with pop and beer. Mary who was on the resort daily-took our pic 3x and made 8 x 10's for us to take back home with us for 10 dollars. She did awesome on them and she was a real sweetheart . The bartenders were great....no holding back on the liquor! Also 2 of our favorite bartenders were Julio and Philipe !!!Philipe never made us wait and Julio was doing two for one! Thats 2 drinks for one kiss on the cheek! Another bartender over by the hammocks caught us nappin one night for 1 1/2 hours....the next day we came by and he noticed us and said hey! Somebodys in your hammock!!!All in all..we had the most awesome vacation in our lives...we wouldn't trade the memories for anything!
