We stayed in Villas Ixchel from January 9 – 18 2005 and we had a pleasant time. Booking the place was very easy. Rosie replied promptly on my emails and answered all my questions regarding how to get to her place.
My family of 3 (1 kid almost 3yrs) were very warm welcomed to Roswitha’s place. As soon as we arrived in Villas Ixchel, Rosie greeted us with a big smile and she gave us a map and we felt right at home. Rosa is very nice, she is very well knowledgeable about the island and she is a wonderful host. She had answers for all of our questions. We rented the downstairs studio and found everything that we needed. The place was quiet, clean, private and convenient. The location is as described away from the cruse crowd and close to the downtown. We used the taxi all the time to get around. All the recommended snorkeling beaches, places to eat and things to see were exactly what we wanted. We would highly recommend that place to anybody that wants to experience the local atmosphere and to have a wonderful vacation.

We stayed with Roswitha in October of 2004 and had a WOMDERFUL time. The apartment had everthing a much more expensive hotel would have except maybe a balcony. The room was always spotless and I am a neat freak. Rosie got us a great deal on a scooter for 2 weeks and is also very knowledgeable about what to do on the island. (she is also a master diver and took me on my first dive and I loved it!!!!) If you're an "all inclusive" fan and have to have a beach or an endless view, this place is not for you. However, if you want a feel as to what the "inside" of Cozumel is like and you're on a budget...Villas Ixchel is perfect. While you're there be sure to kiss Ossa and Pascha for me!

We rented 2 apartments from Roswitha from Dec 12 - Dec 19 /04. They were clean, efficient and homey. Rosie is a great host and spent time giving us great hints and tips on the area. We came to Cozumel to snorkel and followed her advice and where to go. We rented a VW convertible and snorkelled every day but one when weather encouraged us to visit the ruins instead. The highlight of our trip was our last day when we went snorkelling with Rosie. We went to three different locations and saw everything!! It was great to be guided and have a boat follow if we were tired or just wanted a break, and to not have to be concerned about traffic. When snorkelling earlier in the week you had to be extremely careful of heavy boat traffic due to shoreline snorkel tours offered by the locals to the many cruise ship people. I will not talk about where Rosie took us or what we saw, but I would definitely give a 2 thumbs up.

I just got back from staying at Villas Ixchel and I highly recommend it. Beautiful, unique, clean rooms in a lovely, residential setting. The owner, Rosie, is a wonderful host and extremely helpful. It certainly was an awesome place to stay and I would return in a heartbeat and would highly recommend this place without any reservations.
